Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We join with you in prayer for your back and for strength to be faithful in the care of your body.
We ask the Lord who is the true physician to lay His healing hand upon you, to ease your pain and to restore strength to your back and to your whole frame. As He once touched the fevered and made them whole at once, we know He is able to heal, and we also know that He often heals through time, through wisdom, and through our patient obedience in small things.
We pray that God will give you wisdom and discipline as you do these exercises for your abdominal and core muscles each morning and each night. May He guide you to do them correctly and consistently, without injury, and may He use them to strengthen what is weak and to support your back. Scripture reminds us that bodily exercise profits a little, while godliness is profitable for all things both in this life and the life to come. To care for the body is a good stewardship, and to exercise the soul through prayer, hearing the word, and walking in obedience is of even greater gain. We pray for both kinds of strength for you, that your body would be strengthened and that your soul would be renewed day by day.
We pray also for endurance. When the routine feels long or wearisome, may the Lord give you grace to continue, and may He guard you from discouragement. May you know His presence with you in the morning and in the evening, and may you rest in His care.
Father, we bring our brother before You. Have mercy and grant healing according to Your will. Grant wisdom to know the right exercises and faithfulness to do them. Strengthen the core and the back, ease pain, and grant patience and hope. Above all, nourish his soul through Your word and keep him close to Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.
We will continue to remember you before the Lord, and we encourage you to keep seeking wise counsel for your health as you trust Him.
