Prayer for guidance and favour

We join with you in bringing this request before the Lord and we thank you for seeking Him in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have confidence to approach the throne of grace.
We are encouraged by your desire for wisdom and strength in your work and for favor and peace. The Word tells us, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. We are also reminded to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. And we take comfort in the promise, Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. Proverbs 16:3.
We know that true success and open doors come from the Lord, not merely from our own effort. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. Colossians 3:23-24. When we work with integrity and diligence as unto Him, He is faithful to establish the work of our hands. As it is written, Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us. Establish the work of our hands for us. Yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus we lift up this dear one to You. We ask that You fill them with wisdom beyond their own understanding and with strength for each task and challenge at work. Guide their decisions, their words, and their actions, that all they do would honor You and bear good fruit. We ask for Your favor to rest upon them, for Your peace to guard their heart and mind, and for You to open doors that no one can shut according to Your perfect will. Close the doors that would lead away from Your purpose and lead them in the path You have prepared. Let their efforts bring positive outcomes that reflect Your goodness and bring glory to Your name. Establish the work of their hands and let them walk in Your provision and grace day by day. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We were glad to read your honest prayer for wisdom and strength at work. Asking God to guide your efforts, to give you peace as you work, and to open the right doors is a good and humble way to approach each day, and we are happy to stand with you in it.

We have found it helps to bring both parts to the Lord daily, not only the big decisions but the ordinary tasks, asking Him to shape how we plan, how we speak to others, and how we steward what is in front of us.

How good it is that you have turned to the Lord Jesus for wisdom and strength in your daily calling, for there is never an hour when God cannot be seen, never a moment when His door will not open to any who come to ask advice of Him.
Divine Wisdom, dressed in robes of love and tenderness, invites you to run into her arms, and bowing with submission to the will of God, by that very fact you are furnished with unerring guidance. Remember that holiness is as near akin to perfect wisdom as sin is to insanity, so seek first to walk uprightly before Him in your work, and He will direct your steps. Haste is the author of a great deal of mischief in human life, therefore wait upon the Lord, ask counsel of His Word and by prayer, and He will make your way plain.
You have asked for favour and open doors, and herein is comfort, for Christ Himself is the door and He is an open door and a door available for you. He has set Heaven's gate open for His people and none can shut it, and when He turns in a way of grace to His people, He comes with all His soul most heartily and richly to display His favor and His love toward the objects of His choice. What you need for your labour, for peace in your heart and for success that honours Him, He is able to provide, for He rests in His love and rejoices over His people with singing when He is at work for their good.
May the Lord grant you wisdom from above to discern what is right, and strength to do it with diligence and integrity. May He give you favour in the sight of those among whom your lot is cast, and that peace which passes all understanding to guard your heart. May He in His providence set before you open doors that no man can shut, and may your efforts, offered as unto Him and not unto men, bring forth fruit that is pleasing in His sight. And may all your success be counted not in earthly honour alone, but in faithfulness to Christ, who is your wisdom, your strength and your exceeding great reward.
