Beloved of All
Your request for wisdom and strength at work is pleasing to God, and He invites you to ask Him for these things. Scripture teaches that wisdom is the principal thing to seek, more valuable than riches or any earthly success. With all of your getting, you are urged to get understanding, an understanding heart that knows how to walk rightly. That wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord, a humble reverence for Him and a turning away from evil, and it grows as you trust Him and seek His ways.
The Bible presents wisdom as crying out in the open, calling to all who will listen, inviting us to come and learn. That wisdom is ultimately found in Jesus Christ Himself, for in Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. He is made unto us wisdom, righteousness, and redemption. To seek wisdom, then, is to seek Christ, to watch daily at His gates, to listen to His instruction and wait for His counsel. When Solomon was given the opportunity to ask for anything, he asked for wisdom to fulfill the work God had given him, and God was pleased with that request and honored it.
There is a wisdom of this world that is earthly and leads to envy and strife, and God has shown that wisdom to be foolishness. True wisdom that comes from above is different. It leads to purity, peace, humility, and a life that bears good fruit. It is a defense and it gives life to those who have it. Knowledge may give you facts, but wisdom gives you the ability to understand your way and to walk uprightly, to make decisions with prudence and equity. In the multitude of counselors purposes are established, so seek counsel from God's Word and from faithful believers as you make decisions at work.
Scripture promises that whoever finds wisdom finds life and obtains favor from the Lord. That favor is not merely success in the eyes of people, but the gracious help and approval of God as you walk in His will. As you do whatever your hand finds to do with all your might, He can grant you clarity, strength, and peace that guards your heart even under pressure.
I pray for you that the Lord will pour out upon you the spirit of wisdom and understanding. May He grant you a discerning heart for every task and decision at work, strength to do your duties with diligence and integrity, and peace that rests in trusting Him with the outcome. May He guide your efforts, establish the work of your hands, and in His goodness open the doors that align with His purpose for you, closing those that would lead you away from Him. May you know His favor as you seek first His wisdom, and may your work reflect His character and bring honor to Him. In Jesus name, Amen.
