Your prayer reflects a deep weariness with strife and disappointment, and it is understandable to feel tired when those chosen by their communities are set aside through failure and infighting, when a court case holds the outcome, and when so many around you face unemployment. God sees this unhealthy environment and hears your cry for help.
Scripture shows that God is a God of righteousness and justice and He desires justice to prevail. When truth falls in the street and fairness cannot enter, when judgment is turned backward and justice stands far off, the foundations of a nation are shaken. The Lord has said to keep judgment and do justice, to live fairly and honestly, not cheating or taking advantage of one another. The person who walks in that way is blessed. At times it can feel as though no one is calling for what is right and no one is pleading for truth, and the Lord looks for an intercessor to stand in the gap.
Be assured that God does not pervert judgment and He does not pervert justice. He is excellent in power and full of justice and He will not afflict without cause. By Him kings reign and princes and judges decree what is just. For that reason a false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is His delight. He requires honesty in our dealings, in commerce, in leadership, and in the courts.
In human courts, where judgment and justice should always be found, justice is often uncertain. Even those who work within the system will say that you cannot be assured of a just outcome, and many have learned that what should bring light can instead bring obscurity. That is why your prayer for God to be your advocate is so fitting. When earthly justice stands afar off, the Lord Himself remains the true Judge who sees all devices and hears every plea.
Continue to do what is right and to pray for what is right. God has promised that His salvation is near and His righteousness will be revealed, and He hears those who seek Him early. Pray that those in authority will rule with wisdom and integrity, that every decision regarding those candidates will be weighed honestly, that the judges will seek truth and equity, and that the needs of the many who are without work will be met by His provision.
May the Lord intervene according to His perfect justice and mercy, establish truth where there has been confusion, bring peace where there has been fighting, and bring hope and provision to your nation. May He guide the leaders to decree justice, comfort those who are weary, and let His righteousness be seen in the life of your communities. In the name of Jesus we ask for His will to be done and for His justice and mercy to prevail.
