Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly. Feeling overwhelmed by many issues at once is something Scripture talks about openly, and God invites that honesty in prayer.
There are times when the heart and spirit feel overwhelmed, when you have done your best and it is still not enough and you do not know where to turn. David described that very place when he was driven from his home and pursued by enemies, even by his own son whom he loved. In that place he prayed, when my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the rock that is higher than I. That is still the right prayer today. The rock is not your own strength or wisdom, it is the Lord himself. He is higher, stronger, and steadier than you are, and he can lift you to solid ground when everything around you feels unstable.
Part of that honesty is moving away from self help formulas and calling for help outside yourself. The apostle Paul came to the end of his own efforts and cried out, who will deliver me, and then answered his own cry with thanks be to God through Jesus Christ. Victory does not come from trying harder to be a better person on your own. It comes through Jesus. When you can say plainly, Lord I cannot do this, I need your help, that is where his strength meets you.
Scripture also asks and answers the question of where real help comes from. I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from where does my help come. The answer is not from the hills themselves, not from people or circumstances. My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. The same God who created all things is the one who watches over you. Human help is limited and often fails, but through God we can stand and prevail because he is the one who sustains and delivers. If it were not for the Lord, the deep waters of emotional and spiritual pressure would have gone over our souls, but he keeps us from going under.
Even when your spirit is overwhelmed within you, the Lord knows your path. You may not see the way forward through all these issues, but he does. As you lay each burden before him in prayer, he hears and he understands, and he gives assurance even while you are praying.
I want to encourage you to keep measuring everything by the Word of God and to keep bringing every burden to him. He is not distant from your trouble.
Let me pray for you. Father, we lift up this dear one who is overwhelmed by many burdens. You see every issue and you know the path ahead when it feels hidden. Lead to the rock that is higher, be the help and deliverer, and show your sustaining power. Give peace that comes from knowing help is in your name, the maker of heaven and earth, and give victory through Jesus Christ. Strengthen faith, even as small as a mustard seed, and let it rest in your power and not in self effort. Comfort, guide, and uphold day by day. In the name of Jesus we ask this, amen.
