We join with you in this holy and beautiful cry, Show me Your glory, and we rejoice at the hunger God has already placed in your heart for more of Him. This is the cry of Moses when he said, Please show me your glory, Exodus 33:18, and the Lord answered him, I will make all my goodness pass before you, and will proclaim Yahweh’s name before you, Exodus 33:19. What Moses saw was the very character of God, for the Lord passed by before him and proclaimed, Yahweh, Yahweh, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth, Exodus 34:6. This is what you are asking for, not just an experience, but a revelation of who He is, His goodness, His mercy and His compassion made manifest in every area of your life.
We pray that the Lord will cultivate in you that consuming hunger for prayer and for the Scriptures, for that hunger itself is a gift from Him. Jesus said, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, Matthew 5:6. As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, God, Psalm 42:1. And He promises, You shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart, Jeremiah 29:13. When we draw near to Him through prayer and His Word, He draws near to us, James 4:8, and transforms us. We all, with unveiled face seeing the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit, 2 Corinthians 3:18.
We also noticed your prayer was offered to the Father and to the Lord, and we want to lovingly encourage you to come always in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and see His glory. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we can boldly approach the throne of grace and cry, Show me Your glory.
We pray together for you now.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace on behalf of our dear fellow believer. We thank You for the hunger You have birthed in them for Your presence. Like Moses, they cry out to see Your glory, and we ask You to answer as You did for him. Reveal Your goodness, Your mercy and Your compassion in every area of their life, in their home, their work, their heart and their future. Open their eyes as the psalmist prayed, Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things out of your law, Psalm 119:18. Create in them a deep and abiding delight in prayer and in Your Word, that they would seek You early and find You to be their portion. Let them behold Your glory and be transformed from glory to glory into the image of Christ. Fill them with Your Spirit, satisfy their hunger and thirst, and let Your goodness pass before them so that all who see their life will see Your glory. We ask this in the mighty and only name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
