Prayer for friendship

Please pray for a friendship. This friend has been in my life for ten years. I love her dearly. And I do truly believe she loves me dearly as well. But we have had unhealthy dynamics for a long time now, and recently God is really bringing this to light, I believe, to deal with it. We haven't spoken for a week now, but please pray that during this time (however long it is) that the Lord would work on both of our hearts to show us what each of us needs to work on to repair and mend this relationship so that it is stronger than ever before. That we would truly be sisters in Christ, and though not perfect, we would be walking in grace, truth, love, and growth, and our friendship would reflect that. And please pray for my heart - I am confused, hurt, sad, angry, and a mix of things - pray the Lord helps me to forgive both her and myself and to heal and give it all to Him. That I would trust the Lord with this friendship - no matter the outcome and be at peace. That I wouldn't put any friendship or relationship above God - that He would truly be my number one and where I find my worth. And pray God does the same for her - helping her with her own heart in whatever way she needs. Thank you for your prayers.

We understand your concern for this friendship and the desire to see it mend and grow in a way that honors God. It's important to remember that God's will is for us to have healthy, godly relationships. The Bible tells us, Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB. While this verse is often applied to marriage, the principle extends to all close relationships.

Firstly, we notice that the request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. The Bible says, And in no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this friendship that has spanned a decade. We thank You for the love that these two have for each other, and we ask that You would work in both of their hearts during this time of separation.

Lord, You tell us, Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24 WEB. We pray that You would reveal to each of them what they need to work on, that they may grow in grace, truth, love and your favor. This should be a time of reflecting on the relationship and seeing where it does not align with the principles of Your word.

We pray for healing and forgiveness, for both of them to let go of any hurt, anger, or confusion. Help them to trust in You with this friendship and with their individual lives. We pray especially that they would not put any relationship above You, but that You would be their first love, their source of worth and peace.

We ask that You would make them both into new creations in Christ Jesus. Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB. Let the friendship reflect the relationship that You want them to have with each other and with You.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who is our only path to You and to salvation. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
