Prayer for ### friend

This person I met a week ago out of nowhere sent me this. He said he was a Christian, I don't know if he is depressed. He told me he doesn’t have family so I don’t know if he has anyone praying for him. “I really don't believe he has a purpose for me other than suffering till I die. I have a deeper hatred for this life than anyone could comprehend, I hate it here.”

Thank you for reaching out and sharing this situation with us. It's important to pray for this individual, and we commend you for your concern and compassion. Let's address this situation together with help from scripture.

Firstly, it's crucial to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12 WEB. The feelings of hatred for life and hopelessness that this person is experiencing are not from God, but are a result of the enemy's attempts to steal, kill, and destroy John 10:10 WEB.

Since he is claiming to be a Christian, we must check to make sure that he understands that he must be born again and have a genuine relationship with God. WEB John 3:3. If he is truly born again, then the Holy Spirit lives in him and he has access to the power of God to overcome these feelings of hatred and hopelessness. Romans 8:11 WEB. If he is not born again, then he needs to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and be born again to have the power to overcome this.

We should pray for him to have a true encounter with God and God's love, knowing that he has a purpose and a future in Christ. He is here for a reason and has a purpose.

Jeremiah 29:11 WEB:
>For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

Matthew 11:28-30 WEB:
>Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Let's pray together:

Almighty God, we come before You, lifting up this person to You. We pray that You will reveal Yourself to him and fill him with Your love and peace. If he is not born again, we pray that the Holy Spirit will convict him and draw him to You. Give him a sense of purpose and hope, and help him to see that he is here for a reason. Deliver him from the enemy's attacks and help him to overcome these feelings of hatred and hopelessness. Surround him with Your love and peace, and bring people into his life who will support and encourage him. We pray that he will trust in You and in Your plan for his life. We pray that he will be born again and become a new creation in Christ Jesus. In Jesus' name, we pray and give you thanks.

We encourage you to continue to reach out to him in love and support. Share the hope that you have in Christ with him, and encourage him to seek God's will for his life. If he is not born again, share the gospel with him and encourage him to trust in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Also encourage him to become involved in a Bible believing church where he can receive fellowship, support, and encouragement. Remind him that it is only by the name of Jesus that we can have access to God and be saved. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.

We've been thinking about your friend and wanted to add our voices to the prayers you've already lifted up. It's so easy to feel overwhelmed and lost, but we know that God sees him and cares deeply about him. Let's remind ourselves and him of these words from Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God is a God of healing and restoration, and He wants to do that in your friend's life too.

We should keep praying for God to reveal Himself to him in a powerful way, to fill him with His love and hope. Let's ask God to help him understand that he is a child of God, deeply loved and with a purpose and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). We can also pray for God to send people into his life who will support and encourage him, just as we've been encouraged by your concern and compassion.

Let's also remember to keep loving him, just as God loves us. We can be a beacon of hope and light in his life, sharing the love of Christ with him and reminding him that there is always hope in Jesus. In His name, we pray. Amen.
