We lift you up before the Lord as you begin this new chapter in your life, trusting that He has ordained your steps and will go before you on this first day of work. The Scriptures remind us in Proverbs 16:3, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* This is not just a job—it is an opportunity to glorify God through diligence, integrity, and excellence, as Colossians 3:23-24 instructs us: *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ."*
We also encourage you to remember that your true confidence comes from the Lord, not from your own strength. Philippians 4:13 declares, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* As you step into this workplace, be a light for Christ—show kindness, speak truth, and let your conduct reflect the hope that is within you. If fear or anxiety tries to creep in, cast it upon the Lord, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). And if you face challenges, remember that God is with you, just as He promised Joshua: *"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go"* (Joshua 1:9).
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with thanksgiving for this new opportunity You have provided for our brother/sister. Lord, we ask that You go before them today, smoothing their path and granting them favor in the sight of their supervisors and colleagues. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, so that anxiety or nervousness will have no place in their heart. Give them wisdom in every decision, clarity in every task, and the strength to work as unto You, not unto men.
May they be a vessel of Your love and truth in that workplace, shining Your light in both word and deed. Protect them from any snares of the enemy—whether distraction, discouragement, or ungodly influences—and surround them with Your angels. If there are opportunities to share the hope of Christ, give them boldness and the right words to speak.
We also pray that this job would be a blessing not just for today, but for their future, aligning with Your perfect will for their life. If there are areas where they need to grow—whether in skill, patience, or faith—use this season to refine them for Your glory.
Most of all, Father, we ask that You would be glorified through their work. May they walk in the assurance that they are not there by accident, but by Your divine appointment. We commit this day, and every day that follows, into Your hands, trusting that You will establish the work of their hands (Psalm 90:17).
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to remind you that every good gift comes from above (James 1:17), and this opportunity is no exception. Walk in gratitude, and if the Lord brings to mind those who have supported or encouraged you along the way—including this group—take a moment to thank Him for His body, the Church. We are cheering you on and trust that God will do exceedingly abundantly above all you could ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Go forward in faith!
