Disciple of Prayer
Hello everyone! I pray that all is well with each of you. May the peace and blessings of Jesus be with us all. Amen.

I’m in need of prayer assistance for me and my mother. These past couple of months have been very rough on the both of us, especially my mom right now. We are about almost 3 months behind rent. Our lights almost got cut off today for the past three months, my mom, barely has had any clients for the past two months. I don’t know exactly what really happened. I don’t really know how to explain this, but we were literally broke to the point we barely had food in our refrigerator and this has never happened to us before so it was very I don’t really know, but I don’t really have the words to explain it. I was scared. I was worried but right now today, November 21, 2025. I can most definitely praise God. Because we’re better than we were the past two months we’re not struggling for food like we were funds are still hard but amen. My mom has gotten about 2- 3 clients in the past months not that many but at least she had some clients and my mom has been taking debts and she does not like taking debts. She is never taking debts before but times are hard and they are her personal bills that she has to pay every week and you can’t be late for those payments but my mom she has been praying and praying I have been worrying of course so I need prayer for me and my mother prayer specifically for my mom to get more customers praying for my mom‘s old customers to contact her and book appointments for my mother to find more customers when she’s looking out for customers prayer that we don’t get evicted from our house since they added more money to our rent it has been a little bit of hard paying the rent more. I’m just praying matter of fact the both of us are praying for my mother’s green card application to get approved. So she can have her green card because when she has that it will be much better for us because we will be able to contact our housing management so they can update our rent to make it lower since my mother will be a permanent resident. Reason why our rent is very high because only 50% of the household is a US citizen and the other 50% is not so I’m a US citizen. My mother is not but once she gets her green card application she will be a permanent citizen and will be able to contact our housing management to let them know, and they will lower our rent. We will pay less and they will pay more and also I will be able to apply for disability benefits for my mother for she is disabled and she has a prosthesis like my mother. She currently needs a new prosthesis like because the current one she has she has a little bit difficulties walking. She’s been needing a new prosthetic leg since three years ago, but her primary care doctor refuses to sign the paper because he does not have the qualifications to sign it. He recommended my mother to a physical therapy location and they were not able to help and ever since that my mom has not been able to get a new prosthetic leg in order for her to get a new prosthesis leg, her primary care doctor needs to be able to fill out the documentations and his prescriptions that she needs to get a new prosthesis leg. If I see, I’m not worried I’m lying. I am very worried because of the rent. We are almost 3 months behind. It’s about to be December so we’re literally three months behind rent. Our lights almost got cut off today. But thank God I had some money left in my account. I was able to pay a deposit so we’re safe for now. My mom‘s been wanting to get a new job or she wants to go back to selling like she used to do before, but the problem is she can’t really go back to selling because of the prosthesis like it’s old. The prosthesis leg is three years old she should’ve been got a new one like three years ago, but she has she’s been patching it up and fixing it the best of her ability. And I’m still hoping and looking for a good job within the early childhood education field if I can possibly find a full-time job that would be much better because at least I’ll get a good decent amount of money I’ll be able to contribute to half of the bills because the two jobs that I have right now at least I’m getting paid you know so I’m not gonna say like the jobs are bad. I don’t wanna seem like I’m ungrateful, but I know I could do better. You know I have a bachelors degree in English literature and a minor an early childhood education so I can most definitely go into the teaching field, but it’s kind of hard because most schools they ask if you have its teaching certificate or if you have experience with teaching with younger kids and honestly I do not really have that much experience working with younger children so it’s kind of hard but I’m not losing. Hope I just hope that next month and the rest of this month will be very better for us. Hopefully, we don’t go through what we went through the past couple of months because like I said, I don’t even really know how to explain what really happened. Like all of a sudden we just went through this starvation. We barely had food. There was literally no funds but today praise God. It’s way way better than it was those past couple of months. I do hope that I find a good job for myself and I also do help that I can be able to find a good job for my mother as well. That’s not too tiring for her because she’s an elderly woman and I do pray and hope that my mother’s green card application process get approved and she gets her green card by the end of 2025 before 2026 hopefully but it’s all with in God‘s timing but I do hope that she does get it for that will help her a lot and it will benefit her a lot and I do hope that I could be able to help my mother because at my grown right age of 22 years old I should be taking care of my mom. I should not be having to rely on her from many things and it’s kind of embarrassing for me because most people of my age they take care of their parents they take care of the household. I can’t even do that myself. I can’t even take care of my own personal bills, I literally struggle with everything I tend to not try to compare myself to people, but sometimes it gets really upside down especially the past couple of months I was just been filling down like I wish I had this. I wish I had that maybe if I was this maybe if I had that I would not be experienced this we would not be experiencing that and I also was feeling guilty as well because my mother‘s rent did increase because of the second job I have which is security and I only work three days or four days maximum and then two jobs at work. I don’t even pass $300. Honestly and I sometimes do be feeling embarrassed because I have a bachelors degree and I should be working a good job that’s worth my degree but I’m I am glad at least I have a job because there are many people that are looking for jobs that they don’t have I don’t wanna lose my job and I’m not trying to lose my job and I won’t quit my job until I find a good job until I know that that job is for me and that is where I belong. I do hope and pray that we do not get evicted from our house after everything we’ve been through with the housing court eviction notice issue the rent debt. I hope we don’t go through this again and I hope that our billings comes easy and I pray that we are able to pay our debts so soon very easily and I hope that my mom gets more clients. I hope that her old clients reach out to her. I hope that she finds new clients as well. I hope that her green card application gets approved faster so it could very much benefit her. I pray that everything goes well for me and my mother. I pray that everything goes well for anyone who was struggling and I pray that all as well for everyone thank you you have a great day.

We're here to support you and your mother in prayer. Let's lift her up together before the Lord, knowing that He is your Provider and Sustainer in every season, especially in times of hardship. Your testimony of His faithfulness even in the midst of struggle is a powerful reminder that God never abandons His children. You have seen His hand at work, even when the refrigerator was nearly empty, and we praise Him with you for His provision. Yet we also recognize the deep anxiety and burden you both carry - the weight of unpaid rent, the fear of eviction, the physical limitations your mother faces, and the frustration of unanswered prayers for stability. These are not small things, and we do not minimize them. But we declare that the Lord is greater than every obstacle, and we stand with you in faith, trusting Him to move mightily in your circumstances.

First, we must address something foundational: you mentioned the peace and blessings of Jesus, and we rejoice that you acknowledge Him. However, we notice that your prayer did not explicitly call upon the name of Jesus Christ as the authority through which these requests are brought before the Father. This is not a small detail - it is the very basis of our access to God. Scripture is clear: "There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son" (John 14:13, WEB). "There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, heard, or delivered" (Acts 4:12). So we urge you: when you pray, boldly approach the throne of grace in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that your petitions reach the Father's ears. If you have not yet surrendered your life fully to Christ as Lord and Savior, we plead with you to do so today. "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9, WEB).

Now, let us speak to the specific burdens you've shared:

1. **Financial Struggles and Debt**: The Bible does not promise a life free from hardship, but it does promise that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Your mother's reluctance to take on debt is wise, for Scripture warns: "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender" (Proverbs 22:7). Yet in this season, debt has become a temporary necessity, and we pray the Lord would provide so abundantly that these debts are repaid swiftly and your family is no longer bound by them. We also recognize the shame you've expressed - feeling unable to care for your mother as you believe you should. But hear this: your worth is not in your paycheck or your ability to provide; it is in Christ alone. You are not a failure because you struggle. Even the apostle Paul knew what it was to lack: "I know how to be humble, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need, both to abound and to be in want" (Philippians 4:12, WEB). Your season of need does not define you. What defines you is your trust in the Lord, even when the path is unclear.

2. Your Mother's Green Card and Disability Benefits: We join you in praying for favor in your mother's green card application. "The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the water courses. He turns it whereever he desires" (Proverbs 21:1, WEB). If it is God's will, He can move the hearts of those reviewing her case to approve it swiftly. We also pray for wisdom and persistence as you navigate the bureaucracy surrounding her prosthesis and disability benefits. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him" (James 1:5, WEB). Do not grow weary in advocating for her. Keep records, follow up diligently, and seek out organizations or legal aid that may assist pro bono. The Lord sees her suffering - her difficulty walking, her weariness - and He is not indifferent. "A Father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation" (Psalm 68:5, WEB). Though she may feel forgotten by men, she is never forgotten by Him.

3. Employment for You Both: You long for a job that aligns with your degree and gifts, and we pray the Lord would open that door - but we also caution you against discontentment in the waiting. "Let your way of life be free from the love of money, and be content with such things as you have; for he has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you'" (Hebrews 13:5, WEB). While you seek better opportunities, work as unto the Lord in the roles you have now (Colossians 3:23). As for your mother, we pray the Lord would restore her client base - both old contacts reaching out and new ones being divinely connected to her. If she feels led to return to sales, pray for creative solutions to accommodate her physical limitations. Perhaps the Lord will provide a way for her to sell online or through a network that does not require excessive mobility. Do not lose hope. "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life" (Proverbs 13:12, WEB). Keep pursuing every avenue, and trust that the Lord who knit your mother together in the womb (Psalm 139:13) cares deeply about her mobility and comfort.

4. The Rent and Threat of Eviction: This is the most pressing burden, and we do not take it lightly. Three months behind is a heavy load, but "cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22, WEB). We pray for a supernatural provision - whether through an unexpected source of income, a temporary reduction in rent, or a payment plan that eases the burden. We also urge you to humble yourselves and reach out for help. Are there churches, community organizations, or even government assistance programs that could provide temporary relief? Pride often keeps us from asking for help, but there is no shame in needing support during a crisis. If you have not already, consider speaking with your housing management - now, before eviction proceedings advance. Some landlords or housing authorities may be willing to work with you if they see you actively seeking solutions.

5. Your Mother's Prosthesis and Health: It is unjust that her doctor has failed to provide the necessary documentation for a new prosthesis. We pray the Lord would either soften this doctor's heart to fulfill his duty or connect your mother with a physician who will. In the meantime, research organizations that provide prosthetic limbs to those in need - some charities or even medical schools may offer assistance. Do not lose hope. "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life" (Proverbs 13:12, WEB). Keep pursuing every avenue, and trust that the Lord who knit your mother together in the womb cares deeply about her mobility and comfort.

6. Your Heart of Comparison and Guilt: You mentioned feeling embarrassed because others your age are caring for their parents, while you struggle to care for yourself. But stop comparing your journey to theirs. God's timing and path for you are unique. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11, WEB). Your season of dependence is not permanent. The Lord is preparing you, even in this hardship, for what lies ahead. As for guilt - repent of it. Guilt that is not from the Holy Spirit is a tool of the enemy to paralyze you. You are doing all you can in this season, and that is enough in God's eyes. "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1, WEB).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious sister and her mother. Lord, You see their every need - the unpaid rent, the threat of eviction, the empty refrigerator that is now being filled by Your grace, the weariness in their bones, and the fear in their hearts. You are Jehova Jireh, the God who provides, and we declare that You will not let them be put to shame. Father, we ask for a supernatural provision - open the floodgates of heaven and pour out blessings they cannot contain (Malachi 3:10, WEB). Provide clients for this mother, restore old connections, and bring new opportunities that exceed their expectations. Lord, soften the heart of the housing management - grant them favor, that they may be given more time or a reduced payment plan. Do not let them be evicted, Lord. You who calmed the storm with a word can calm this storm too.

We also pray for this mother's green card application. Lord, soften the delays in the name of Jesus. Let her receive that green card before 2026, that she may have her rent adjusted and her burdens lightened. We also pray for her disability benefits and prosthesis. Heal her body, Lord, and give her strength.

For our sister, we ask for divine connections in the job market. Open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) for a full-time position in early childhood education or a field that utilizes her degree. Give her wisdom as she applies, and let her resume stand out to the right employers. Remove the spirit of comparison and shame from her, Lord. Remind her that her worth is in You alone, and that You are preparing her for greater things.

Father, we also pray for their faith to be strengthened. When fear rises, remind them of Your promises. When hope wanes, let them recall Your past provisions. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding and let them rest in the knowledge that You are working all things for their good (Romans 8:28, WEB). We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust You to move mightily, and we give You all the glory. In the power-ful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

Sister, do not stop praying. "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17, WEB). Keep bringing every concern to the Lord, no matter how small. And as you wait, act in faith. Update your resume, follow up on job leads, call old clients, research assistance programs - faith without works is dead (James 2:26, WEB). The Lord often moves as we move, not while we sit in passivity. Also, guard your heart against bitterness. It's easy to grow resentful in hardship toward landlords, doctors, or even God Himself. But bitterness is a poison that harms only the one who drinks it. "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you with all malice" (Ephesians 4:31, WEB). Instead, choose gratitude. Even in lack, there is always something to thank Him for.

Lastly, Lord, rebuke the devil who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). We bind every spirit of lack, delay, and oppression in Jesus' name. Let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17, WEB). Restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25) and let this season of struggle become a testimony of Your faithfulness. Lord, we also pray for their faith to be strengthened. When fear rises, remind them of Your promises. When hope wanes, let them recall Your past provisions. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding and let them rest in the knowledge that You are working all things for their good (Romans 8:28, WEB).

Lord, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We trust You to move mightily, and we give You all the glory. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
