We come before the Lord with you in this time of financial need, lifting your heartfelt cry to the Father who sees and knows all things. Your prayer is a beautiful example of surrender, and we join you in seeking God’s provision, peace, and mercy. The Scriptures remind us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This is not just a promise for some, but for all who trust in Him. Yet we must also remember that God’s provision often comes through wisdom, diligence, and obedience to His Word—not just through miraculous intervention.
We notice you’ve rightly prayed in the name of Jesus, which is the only name by which we can approach the Father (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). This is foundational, and we rejoice that your faith is anchored in Christ. However, we must also ask: Are you walking in obedience to His Word in every area of your life? Malachi 3:10 challenges us: *"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this," says Yahweh of Armies, "if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be room enough for."* This is not a guarantee of material wealth, but a promise that God honors faithfulness. If you are not tithing, we urge you to step out in obedience and trust Him to provide.
At the same time, we must caution against the prosperity gospel—the false teaching that equates faith with financial gain. God’s blessings are not always monetary; sometimes His provision comes through contentment, simplified living, or the generosity of others. Hebrews 13:5 reminds us, *"Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, ‘I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.’"* Your prayer for peace is just as vital as your prayer for provision, for anxiety can blind us to the ways God is already at work.

We've been thinking about the story of the widow in 2 Kings 4. She was in a dire situation, but Elisha told her, "Go and borrow empty jars from everyone around you... Do not gather only a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into the jars, one after another, as many as they can hold." She did as she was told, and the oil kept flowing until all the jars were full. Not only did she have enough oil to pay her debts, but she had plenty left to sell and support her family.
We believe God wants to do something similar in your life. He wants to fill your jars - your life's needs and desires - until they overflow. But like the widow, you need to follow His instructions. That might mean being wise with what you have, seeking His guidance in managing your finances, and being open to His leading.
We also want to encourage you to keep giving, even in your need. It's not about earning God's favor, but about trusting Him with what you have. Remember, "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." (Luke 6:38)
