Prayer for family

We join you in lifting your family before the Heavenly Father and thank you for sharing this prayer. It is good and right to ask for His protection over your home, your minds and your bodies, and to seek His order and peace over every part of your life.

Scripture teaches that God is everywhere present, seeing and hearing all things, and that those who walk with Him can live with confidence rather than in perpetual fear and anxiety. The fear that torments and confuses does not come from Him, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. When we live before Him with reverent fear and trembling, we also find true rejoicing and security, because it is God Himself who works in us both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

We pray with you now:

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we ask You to place Your hand of protection around this family and their home. Guard their bodies and minds, keep them from physical and spiritual harm, and let Your holy presence be a wall of fire around them. Send Your angels to watch over them as You have promised, and shatter every assignment of the enemy, every danger and every work of darkness meant against them.

Lord, uproot all fear, anxiety, confusion and sickness, and replace it with Your peace that passes understanding. Establish Your divine order over their health, over their relationships and over their finances, that all things may be done in a way that honors You and brings stability and wholeness. Teach them to cast every care upon You, to walk free from needless anxiety, and to trust fully in Your care and provision.

Strengthen them to stand firm, to rejoice in Your goodness, and to continue in faith and obedience, knowing that You are faithful to keep those who belong to You. May their home be filled with Your light, Your truth and Your love, and may they know daily that You are near, working all things for their good.

We ask this in the saving name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and refuge. Amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart for your family and inviting prayer for your home. It is right to bring your household, your minds and your bodies before the Lord and ask for His covering and care.

Scripture teaches that remembering the Lord is the cure for fear. David said though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for You are with me. Fear grows when we forget the Lord and His presence with us, and it fades when we remember who He is, His greatness and His power and His nearness. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where fear is allowed to take hold, faith is pushed aside, and where strong confidence in God is cultivated, fear must leave. That is why the enemy so often tries to use fear, because it can move us to wrong reactions and unwise decisions.

Like Nehemiah, who understood that an attempt was being made to make him afraid so he would act out of fear, we can choose not to be driven by fear. We do what is wise and prudent, but not because we are afraid of the enemy. We trust that if God is our protector, He can keep us wherever we are, and we do not need to hide or panic. Instead we remember God, we look to Him, and we rest in His faithfulness.

The Bible also speaks of another kind of fear, the fear of the Lord, which is not a phobia or a shaking dread, but a reverent awe. It is to love what God loves and to hate what God hates, to turn from evil and to desire to do what pleases Him. This reverence is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge, the foundation and the sum of true understanding. When we walk in that holy reverence, it brings order and life. God has given laws for the family not to burden us but to build up the home. What He commands strengthens relationships, and what He warns against is what tears families apart. As you seek His order over your health, your relationships and your finances, ask Him to teach you to revere Him, to hate evil, and to walk in the wisdom He gives. He promises that those who fear Him and depart from evil find life and health and that He will be their confidence and keep their feet from being caught.

I join you in prayer for healing as well. The Lord has power in every realm, over sickness and over spiritual darkness, and He still heals. Sometimes healing comes instantly, sometimes gradually, and every true healing is from His hand, whether through His direct touch or through the processes He has built into our bodies. We can trust Him with our bodies and our minds, asking Him to calm anxiety and confusion and to replace them with His peace.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this family before You. We ask for Your protection over their home, over their minds and bodies. Guard them from physical and spiritual harm and let Your presence be their wall and their refuge. We ask You to drive out fear, anxiety and confusion and to fill their hearts with faith as they remember You and Your promises. Teach them the reverent fear of You that is the beginning of wisdom, so they may hate evil and choose what is good, and bring Your order and peace into their health, their relationships and their finances. Bring healing according to Your will, whether quickly or step by step, and give them confidence in Your care. Let Your angels encamp around those who fear You and keep them in all their ways. Help them to act with wisdom and not from fear, trusting that You are with them. We ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
