The weariness you are carrying from this constant strife is real, and you do not bear it unnoticed. There is a particular pain when the attack comes through family and when lies find listening ears. Yet I want you to see something that your own words have already named: God is working. The turning of your husband to Christ is no small thing. That fresh hunger for Scripture and for a relationship with God is itself evidence of a true faith taking root, a faith that overcomes the world.
Trials like this one are never sent by God to destroy that new faith but to prove its substance. The proving of faith is never really for God’s benefit. He already knows the truth of what He has planted. The proving is so that we can see what He has done, so that faith might become solid and palpable in our own experience. When a man says he believes, his life will begin to conform to that confession. That is not works producing faith; it is faith doing what faith always does. Your husband reading Scripture and seeking God is the natural work of the faith he has received. Pray that this faith would not only continue but would grow into a life of steady obedience, because a living faith will always demonstrate itself in a changed life.

Access into this grace in which you stand is constant because the Savior who died and rose again is constant. So when the turmoil outside rages, return your mind always to that fixed peace.
