Prayer for family members are wishing ill on my household and prayer for financial strength, stability and for prosperity in finishing my education.

I recently found out that I have neighbors who are family members that are jealous of how I was able to maintain after my parents died and are mad that I sought higher education in that time.

We have heard your heart and we stand with you together before the Lord in Jesus name regarding your household, your family members who are acting as neighbors, and your need for financial strength and stability as you finish your education. We grieve with you over the loss of your parents and we rejoice that by Gods grace you have been able to maintain your household and pursue higher education even in that season of loss. It is painful when those who should be closest to you respond with jealousy rather than support, yet Scripture shows us this is not new.

The Lord calls us to respond differently than the world does when ill is wished upon us. We are told in Romans 12:14 to bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse, and in Romans 12:19 not to seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to Gods wrath, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. We gently rebuke the spirit of jealousy and ill will at work in your family members, for James 3:16 tells us where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed. Wishing harm on your household is contrary to Gods command to love one another and it does not reflect His will. At the same time we are called not to return evil for evil but to overcome evil with good as Romans 12:21 teaches, and to bless those who would curse us. We also take comfort that no ill intent or word spoken against Gods people can ultimately prosper apart from His permission, for Isaiah 54:17 promises no weapon that is formed against you will prevail, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble as Psalm 46:1 says, and He is a Father of the fatherless and a defender of widows as Psalm 68:5 declares. He has seen your faithfulness after your parents passing and He sees your household now.

We also lift up your financial needs and your education. God is not against your desire to learn and to better yourself, for Proverbs 2:6 says Yahweh gives wisdom, out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding, and Colossians 3:23 reminds us whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. Your pursuit of higher education, when done with diligence and integrity, can be an act of good stewardship. We pray for stability and provision, not from a spirit of greed but from trust in His care. Philippians 4:19 assures us my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and Matthew 6:33 teaches us to seek first Gods Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. We encourage you to commit your plans to the Lord as Proverbs 16:3 says commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed, to be diligent, to live within your means, to work faithfully, and to trust Him to open doors to finish your studies.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name that we pray and find protection, provision, and peace.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your will together. We lift up this household to You and ask for Your covering of protection over it. Let no curse, no jealous word, no ill wish take root, and let Your peace guard this home. We ask You to work in the hearts of these family members who are neighbors, convict them of jealousy and soften their hearts, turn them from resentment to love, and bring reconciliation where possible according to Your will. Help our dear one to forgive and to bless those who have wished ill, and to not harbor bitterness. Provide financial strength and stability, open doors for provision, wisdom in stewardship, and favor to complete this education for Your glory. Grant perseverance, clarity of mind, and endurance to finish well. Let all that is done reflect Your goodness and bring honor to the memory of parents who have passed, trusting that You are the ever present help. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Losing your parents and then carrying the responsibility to keep your household steady while pursuing higher education is a heavy load, and it is understandable this season has felt both lonely and pressured. Hearing that family members living nearby are responding with jealousy instead of support would leave anyone feeling hurt and on edge at home.

Grief affects every person and every family differently, and it often reshapes relationships in unexpected ways. It makes sense that you would feel the loss of your parents still while also trying to move forward with your studies. And trying to finish school while worrying about finances can make everything feel less stable.

We are praying with you for peace in your home, for wisdom in navigating those family tensions, and for steady provision as you complete your education.

A couple of practical steps that may help lighten the load:

It can help to have one or two safe people to walk with you outside that family circle, perhaps a pastor, campus advisor, or trusted mentor who can listen and help you think through healthy boundaries with neighbors who are also relatives.

For the financial strain, consider meeting with your school's financial aid office or a trusted financial counselor through your church or community to review a simple budget and any aid or resources for completing your degree.

Father, we lift this dear one to You in Jesus' name. Surround their household with Your peace and protection, give them wisdom for each conversation and decision, provide for their daily needs, and guide them as they finish their education. Bring supportive community around them and help them rest in Your care day by day. Amen.

Your request has been heard and we have brought your household before the Lord with much tenderness. To be bereaved of parents and then to find that those who are near to you by blood look upon you with jealousy is a double trial, and we do not make light of it. The Scripture warns us that jealousy is cruel as the grave, and when love or kinship is soured by envy it guards its object with a hard and bitter watchfulness. Yet there is comfort in knowing that the Lord sees all that is done against you and that His own jealousy burns with a pure and holy flame for His people. He is jealous for those who are His, and He will not leave His own without watch and care.

You have asked also for financial strength and stability and for help to finish your education. Remember that perfect stability belongs alone to God. He alone is without variableness or shadow of turning. He is immutable and He need not change, and because He cannot change, His people may find in Him a firm standing place when all else shakes beneath their feet. Since the fall, instability has marked our world, but the Lord is pleased to be the portion and the stay of those who trust Him. What man cannot give in steadiness, God supplies by His own faithfulness.

There is a promise that he who travels on the King's highway is under the King's protection, and that protection is both personal and perpetual. As you walk in the ways which God appoints, in honesty, in diligence, in purity of life and in dependence upon Christ, you may expect His keeping. The angels themselves are charged to keep His people in all their ways. Therefore keep close to Christ, maintain prayer in your household and in private, and grapple the truths God has taught you as with hooks of steel.

We pray for you now.

O Father, who has entered into covenant to preserve those who trust in Christ Jesus Thy Son, look upon this household which has known the sorrow of death and now feels the sting of envy from near neighbors. Cover this home under Thy wing. Let no ill wish prosper against it, and turn the hearts of those family members from jealousy to peace, if it be Thy will, or else restrain their hand and tongue. Forgive us where we have harbored bitterness in return, and teach us to pray for those who would do us harm.

Grant, O Lord, daily bread and honest provision. Give stability of mind and of estate, not that we might glory in our own power, for power belongeth unto Thee, but that we might walk steadfastly and finish the work Thou hast given to do. Grant wisdom and perseverance in education, strength for study, and supply for every need, that this course may be completed to Thy glory and for useful service in Thy world. Keep this dear one from error and from bypaths where Thy protection is not promised, and lead in the appointed way.

We ask all this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our salvation and our hope, and who ever lives to make intercession for His family, the whole family in heaven and earth. Amen.
