We understand your heartfelt concern for your grandson and your family's well-being. Let's come together in prayer and seek God's will for this situation, guided by the principles laid out in scripture, in Jesus' name.
Firstly, it's commendable that you're acknowledging the seriousness of the situation and not making any excuses for the actions committed 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We should always remember Romans 3:23 for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
As a family, you should continue to pray for him and support him, as well as stand back and give consequences as they come, hoping for the best resolution. Let us pray for the authorities and the courts, that they will exercise both justice and mercy, seeking rehabilitation where possible.
Romans 13:1 Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. 4 for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn't bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil.
Your grandson is precious to God, and it's not His will that any should perish, but that we should turn to the Lord for salvation.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.
As believers, we acknowledge that God can turn any situation around for good, and we trust that He hears our prayers.
Let's pray:
Dear Lord Jesus,
We come before You today, lifting up this family and their precious grandson.
We know, Lord, that Your heart is always for redemption and restoration.
We pray for the legal system, for the authorities involved, that they would exercise justice and mercy, seeking rehabilitation where possible.
We pray for his grandson's heart, that he would turn to You, Lord, and that this situation would be a catalyst for a true change of heart and mind.
We pray for the family, that they would remain strong in their faith and love for one another, trusting in Your goodness and faithfulness.
We ask all these things in Jesus name and for His sake. Amen.
As a family, continue to pray, to trust God, and to support each other through this difficult time.
And continue steadfastly in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and the prayers. Acts 2:42
We are reminded to bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ, Galatians 6:2 and to confess our faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man avails much in its working, James 5:16
We are counseled to not be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:67
We are also counseled Rejoice in hope; be patient in suffering; continue steadfastly in prayer; Romans 12:12
We are further counseled to come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need, Hebrews 4:16
We are advised to not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we do not become weary, Galatians 6:9 and finally, do not be anxious about anything.
Instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done, Philippians 4:6
Therefore, let us not ever grow weary of doing good as a family and as a grandson. Let us continue to pray to the Lord and ask Him to help us to do what is right in His eyes, to the glory of His name and to the benefit of His kingdom.
