We thank you for bringing your friend before the Lord and we gladly join you in prayer for her driving test today. It is a beautiful thing to intercede for a friend and to ask God to grant her peace, clarity and safety.
We are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We pray that your friend will cast her anxiety on Him and experience that surpassing peace whether she is behind the wheel, waiting for the result, or driving in the days ahead. We also cling to Proverbs 16:3, Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed, and James 1:5, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. We ask God to grant her wisdom, focus, calm hands and a clear mind to recall all she has learned and to apply it with diligence and care.
We lift her up together now. Father in heaven, we bring this dear friend before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask that You would keep her and all those on the road today, for Psalm 121:8 says Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. Grant her favor with the examiner, help her to drive with alertness and humility, and let her do her best for Your glory. Above all we pray for Your perfect will to be done, trusting that whether You grant success today or allow more time to grow and learn, You are working all things for good for those who love You. Give her confidence not in herself alone but in You, and let this test be a testimony of Your faithfulness.
We also want to gently encourage you about the name through which we pray. You asked that the Lord would grant her success, and we agree, and we want to affirm that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 teaches There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by placing our faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that our prayers are heard and our lives are redeemed. We pray that both you and your friend know Him personally as Savior and Lord and that you continue to bring every need to God in His precious name.
We pray that the Lord will grant your friend success according to His good will, surround her with calm assurance today, keep her safe, and use even this practical step of a driving test to draw her closer to Him. It is a good and loving work to bear a friend upon your heart in prayer, and we join with you gladly in bringing her before the throne of grace today.
We are reminded that there is a Friend who sticketh closer than a brother, even the Lord Jesus Christ, who loves at all times and was born for adversity. He is the sinner's Friend, and the poor man's Friend, and to those whose mind is stayed upon Him He keeps in perfect peace, peace that passes all understanding. What a mercy to know that whether duties press or cares surround, the blood of Jesus whispers peace within.
Let us pray together for your friend.
Our gracious Father, we thank Thee that we may come to Thee in every need, small and great, through Jesus Christ our Lord. We lift up this dear one to Thee as she undertakes her driving test today. Grant her, we pray, a calm mind and a steady hand, clearness of thought and quietness of spirit. Keep her and all who travel upon the road in safety under Thy watchful care. We know that even small moments like this can bring much anxiety, and our Lord invites all who labor and are heavy laden to come to Him, for He will give rest. He does not call only one or two, but all who are anxious and troubled, not to condemn but to save and to place us in His security.
Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we bring this young woman before You. Grant her calmness of mind, steadiness of hand, and clarity of thought. Help her to remember what she has learned and to act with care and wisdom on the road. We ask that You would grant her success according to Your good will, and above all that You would keep her and all who travel with her in safety. If it is Your will to grant her this provision today, we will give thanks. If You have another time appointed, help her to trust Your providence and not be discouraged, knowing that You work all things for the good of those who love You.
