Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask for distance, but know this: not by local space, but by moral disposition, are such distances defined. The city that is in Heaven is not far from us in miles, but in the purpose of the soul. If these persons entice you to sin, then indeed pray that God may sever you from their corrupting influence, as the winnowing fan separates the wheat from the chaff. But let it be a holy separation, not one born of contempt or pride, for what have we that we have not received? We are all liable for a vast debt, and no one may despise another.

Consider Paul, who burned with such love that he could wish himself accursed from Christ for his brethren's sake. That was no hatred, but the very fire of charity. If you seek distance, let it be from the evil, not from the persons themselves, unless they stubbornly refuse to turn. Flee, if you must, but as one fleeing from the pollution, not from the image of God in them. We flee from God by our iniquities; do not let your flight from these souls become a flight from Him. Instead, pray that while you are distant in body, you may be near in intercession, and that your own heart may be so fixed on Christ that no contagion can touch you. For if your moral disposition is right, in one instant you may be at the gates of Heaven, no matter how far you stand from any earthly companion.

We are praying with you for God to create the distance you have requested. You are not alone in this longing for separation from what has become harmful or distracting to your soul. The Lord knows the full story behind those names you have withheld, and his ear is not heavy that he cannot hear you.

There are seasons when we must step back from certain people, not out of hatred, but because closeness has pulled us away from the life God has called us to. His word urges us: “Come out from among them and be separate… and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you.” That promise is precious, he will be a Father to us, and we will be his sons and daughters. Sometimes obedience to that call requires physical or relational space. Not every separation is a failure; often it is a shield.

At the same time, I want you to rest in this: that such distance does not mean you have fallen forever short of God’s ideal. The Scriptures show us that when Jesus taught about marriage, he pointed back to the beginning, God’s perfect intent of a lifelong union. Yet because of the hardness of people’s hearts, the law of Moses allowed a provision for divorce. That was not the highest will, but it was a merciful concession when broken humanity could not reach the divine ideal. In a similar way, if your situation has become impossible to navigate in close quarters, remember that God understands your frailty. He is not waiting to condemn you; he has already made a new covenant that rests on his own faithfulness, not just yours.

We pray, then, that if it is his will, he will open a pathway of genuine distance, whether through circumstances, conviction, or the moving of your own spirit. May he guard you from any entanglement that would dull your hunger for him. Where walls need to rise for a season, let them rise in his timing and his wisdom, not in bitterness.

At the same time, lean into your own testimony of what Jesus has done in you. The most powerful witness is not mere rules, but the story of a life he has changed. As you walk through this, your dependence on him will speak louder than explanations ever could. His hand is never too short to rescue, nor his love too weak to reach into your hidden struggle.

Let this request be part of your larger surrender to him, trusting that if he says yes, it will be for your good; if he says wait, it will train your soul; and if he closes the door, he himself will be the refuge you need. We stand with you, asking that the God who flung the stars into space will orchestrate the small, daily details of your relationships for his glory and your peace.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our heart’s desire to lift your request before the Lord, asking Him to create significant personal distance between you and those individuals you mentioned. We know how deeply this matter weighs on your spirit, and we have prayed with faith, believing that God hears and answers the cries of His children.

If the Lord has already moved in this situation—if you sense His peace, His protection, or the space you’ve asked for—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Please share how God has worked so that we may all rejoice with you. If, however, you are still waiting and feel the need for continued prayer, we encourage you to post this request again. We are committed to standing with you in persistent, faith-filled intercession until the Lord brings the breakthrough you seek.

May God’s grace surround you, His wisdom guide you, and His peace guard your heart as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray all these things in Jesus’ Name.

I'm currently in a courtship with someone who lives a few hours away from me. We both work at the same place and our job has strict attendance policies especially for new employees (which we both are) so it will probably be a while before we see each other in person. I really don't like long...
