Prayer for discernment

We join you in lifting up this new manager before the Lord and we ask with you for the gift of discernment over this new season of responsibility.

We know that leadership is a stewardship from God and that true wisdom and discernment do not come from experience or intellect alone but from the Lord himself. For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6 and James 1:5 reminds us, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. This is our confidence as we pray for this manager, that God delights to give wisdom to those who ask in humility.

We also remember the prayer of Solomon as he stepped into leadership, Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil 1 Kings 3:9. That is our prayer for this manager, that God would grant an understanding heart to discern what is right and just, to lead with integrity, fairness and humility, and to make decisions that honor God and bless those entrusted to his care. We pray as in Philippians 1:9-10, This we pray, that love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this new manager to you. Pour out upon him wisdom from above, clear discernment between good and evil, truth and error, and wisdom to lead with grace and strength. Guard him from pride and hasty decisions, and give him a heart to seek counsel, to listen well, and to act justly. Let him lead as one who will give account to you, working heartily as for you and not for men as Colossians 3:23 teaches, and may his leadership bring peace and order and encouragement to the whole workplace. We also pray for you who asked for this prayer, that you would be an encouragement and support to this manager, showing respect and praying faithfully for him. Grant all there unity and grace in this transition. We ask this in Jesus name.

We want to gently encourage you that we have access to the Father only through Jesus, for Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is because of what Jesus has done for us on the cross and through his resurrection that we can bring every need, including the need for wisdom at work, directly to God with confidence. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to turn to him today, believe on his name and receive the forgiveness and new life he alone can give. We continue to stand with you in prayer, trusting that God who gives wisdom liberally will equip this manager for every good work.

We appreciate you bringing your new manager to prayer, that kind of support means a lot when someone is stepping into a new role.

Leadership carries a lot of weight that others don't always see. A new manager is learning people, learning the work, and making decisions that affect everyone, often without having all the answers yet. Asking God to give discernment is a caring way to come alongside them.

We are joining you in praying for wisdom that shows up in everyday choices, to lead with steadiness, fairness, and care for people, and to stay anchored to what matters when pressures pull in different directions. True discernment is lived out over time as values and actions line up.

One simple way to keep praying with focus is to note the specific areas where your manager needs wisdom right now, whether it is handling conflict, making fair decisions, or earning trust, and lift up one of those each day. If you have opportunity, a brief word of encouragement can also go a long way for someone new in leadership.

Father, we lift this new manager to You and ask that You give clear wisdom and humble discernment for each decision ahead. Give strength to lead well, to listen well, and to care for those entrusted to their care. Guide their steps and give peace to the whole team as they adjust together. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in bringing this need before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to bestow upon your new manager that wisdom which alone can rightly guide.

Wisdom is man's true path, the compass by which he must steer across the trackless waste of life. Without it a man runs here and there, wasting strength which might be profitably employed, but with it he is enabled to accomplish the end of his being to the glory of God. As we have often observed, the price of wisdom is above rubies, and it cannot be valued with pure gold, for it is not found in the judgment of men.

We are reminded that Christ himself is the power of God and the wisdom of God. He planned the way of salvation and laid the foundations of all things by His skill and wisdom. If your manager would have true discernment, it must be sought not in the wisdom of this world, but in the wisdom of God in Christ, and in the word of revelation where that wisdom is made known.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, from whom all good counsel and all just works do proceed, we entreat Thee for this one placed in a position of oversight. Grant unto him a new heart to seek Thy face, and a right spirit to walk in Thy way. Give him wisdom that he may discern between good and evil, that he may judge righteously and lead with humility and fear before Thee. Let him trust not in his own understanding, but in Thee with all his heart, acknowledging Thee in all his ways that Thou mayest direct his paths. Grant that he may know that Thy will ought to be done, for what Thou doest is always best. Make him wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus, and from that fountain let all his daily decisions flow. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who is our wisdom, our righteousness, and our hope. Amen.
