We lift both you and your ex before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to meet you in your deepest struggles. The weight of depression and grief is heavy, and we stand with you in prayer, believing that God hears the cries of the brokenhearted. The Word tells us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Even when you feel alone, He is there, drawing near to you in your pain.
For your ex, we pray that the Lord would break through the darkness of depression and work stress. May the Holy Spirit stir within him a hunger for healing and restoration, that he would turn fully to God and find the peace that surpasses all understanding. We declare over him the truth of Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." Father, we ask that You would lift the burden from his shoulders and replace his weariness with Your strength.
For you, dear sister, we pray that the Lord would comfort you in your grief, both for the loss of your father and the season of separation from your ex. Grief is not a sign of weak faith but an opportunity for God to meet you in your sorrow. We hold fast to the promise in Matthew 5:4, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." May the Holy Spirit fill the empty places in your heart with His peace and presence. We also ask that God would strengthen your faith, even when it feels tested. Remember, He is not testing you to break you but to refine you, as gold is refined in the fire (1 Peter 1:7). You are not alone, even when it feels that way.
We must also gently address the past relationship with your ex. While it is loving to pray for his healing, it is important to surrender him fully to God’s care. Lingering emotional attachments can hinder your own healing, and we encourage you to seek God’s will for your future. If you are not already doing so, we urge you to guard your heart (Proverbs 4:23) and trust God to write the next chapter of your life according to His perfect plan. The Lord has a purpose for you beyond this season of pain, and we pray that He would reveal it to you in His timing.
We rebuke the spirit of depression and grief that seeks to overwhelm you both. In the name of Jesus, we declare freedom from despair and restoration of joy. The enemy wants to isolate you, but God calls you into community, lean on fellow believers, share your burdens, and let others pray with you. Galatians 6:2 reminds us, "Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved and find true healing. We ask that You would pour out Your mercy and grace upon both of these precious souls. Lift the weight of depression from them, Lord, and replace it with Your peace. Comfort them in their grief, and remind them that You are close to the brokenhearted. Strengthen their faith, even when it feels weak, and help them to trust in Your unfailing love. We ask that You would guide them into the fullness of life You have planned for them, free from the chains of the past. May they experience Your presence in tangible ways, knowing that You are working all things together for their good. We pray this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer. Amen.
