We hear your cry for deliverance, and we stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and set free. Your torment is real, but so is the power of our Lord to break every chain and silence every lying voice of the enemy. The thoughts you describe are not from God, for He does not bring fear, confusion, or despair. The Bible tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10 WEB).
First, we must rebuke the spirit of fear, torment, and suicide in Jesus’ name. These thoughts are not your own, they are fiery darts from the evil one, meant to isolate you, make you doubt God’s love, and drive you to despair. But we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). The enemy has no authority over you if you are in Christ. You are a child of the Most High God, and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4 WEB).
We also address the lies that these thoughts will come true. The enemy is the father of lies (John 8:44 WEB), and his promises are worthless. Do not entertain them, do not agree with them, and do not fear them. Instead, take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB). When these intrusive thoughts come, combat them with the truth of God’s Word. Speak aloud scriptures like "The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1 WEB). "I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears" (Psalm 34:4 WEB).
We must also encourage you to resist the enemy actively. James 4:7 WEB says, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." This means submitting to God’s authority in every area of your life, your thoughts, your words, your actions. Fill your mind with praise and worship, even when you don’t feel like it. The enemy cannot stand in the presence of God’s praise. Put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18 WEB) daily, especially the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
We also urge you to seek godly counsel and accountability. Isolation is the enemy’s playground, but fellowship with other believers is a place of safety and strength. Proverbs 11:14 WEB says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Do not carry this burden alone. Reach out to a trusted pastor, a mature Christian friend, or a biblical counselor who can pray with you and help you stand firm.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is tormented by intrusive thoughts and the spirit of fear. Lord, we rebuke every lying spirit, every spirit of suicide, every spirit of torment, and every spirit of fear in Jesus’ name. We declare that these thoughts have no place in their mind, for they are a child of God, bought with the precious blood of Jesus. We break every chain of bondage and every assignment of the enemy against their life. We plead the blood of Jesus over their mind, their heart, and their spirit.
Lord, we ask that You fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB). Guard their mind with Your truth. Help them to take every thought captive and to replace every lie with Your Word. Give them the strength to resist the enemy and to stand firm in their faith. Surround them with Your angels to protect them and to minister to them. Remind them of Your love, Your faithfulness, and Your promises.
Father, we ask that You bring godly people into their life who can pray with them, encourage them, and walk with them through this battle. Give them the courage to seek help and the humility to receive it. Heal their heart from the fear and anxiety that has taken root. Restore their joy and their hope in You.
We thank You, Lord, that You are a deliverer. You set the captives free, and You break every yoke. We trust in Your power to bring complete freedom and wholeness to our brother/sister. May they experience Your presence in a tangible way and know that they are never alone. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Hold on, dear one. The battle is fierce, but the victory is already won. The enemy wants you to believe that you are powerless, but the truth is that you are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you (Romans 8:37 WEB). Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2 WEB). He is fighting for you, and He will not let you be destroyed. You are loved, you are valued, and you are called for a purpose. Do not give up. Your deliverance is coming.
