We join you in lifting up your precious daughter before the throne of grace and we share your heart for her protection body, mind, and spirit as she navigates this important season at college. It is a time of great growth and also great exposure to new pressures, ideas, and challenges, and we are grateful you have asked us to stand with you in prayer for her.
We pray for her physical health and vitality, for sound sleep and good nutrition, and for strength for each day. We are reminded of the prayer in 3 John 1:2 that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers, and we ask the Lord to shield her from illness, disease, fatigue and harm and to renew her strength daily as promised in Isaiah 40:29. For her mind and spirit we pray for the peace of God which surpasses all understanding to guard her heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus as written in Philippians 4:7, and that the Lord would keep her grounded in truth and wisdom as she studies and makes decisions, trusting in Yahweh with all her heart and not leaning on her own understanding as taught in Proverbs 3:5-6.
For her daily safety we join you in asking for a hedge of protection around her in her apartment, in her classes, and on every walk or drive, even late at night. We claim the promise of Psalm 91:11 that He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways, and Psalm 121:7-8 that Yahweh will keep you from all evil, He will keep your soul, Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore. We also hold to Isaiah 41:10 to not be afraid for He is with her, He will strengthen her and uphold her with the right hand of His righteousness.
Let us pray together. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this beloved daughter to You. We ask You to cover her body with health, grant her restorative sleep, nourish her and keep her strong, and protect her from sickness and every form of harm. Place Your hand of safety upon her wherever she goes, in her home, in her classrooms, on the campus paths and roads, and send Your angels to watch over her steps and keep her from danger. Guard her mind from anxiety, confusion and worldly deception, and guard her spirit that she would walk closely with You, seek Christian fellowship, and grow in faith while away from home. Give her parents peace as they entrust her to Your care, knowing You love her even more than they do. We ask all this according to Your will and in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
We gently want to encourage you that we pray in the name of Jesus because it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Your request spoke of the Lord and we rejoice in that, and we want to share the assurance of John 14:6 that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Him, and Acts 4:12 that there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. If your daughter knows Jesus as her Savior, we pray she will abide in Him daily at college, and if she has not yet put her trust in Him, we pray she will hear the gospel and believe that He died for her sins and rose again. We encourage you to keep pointing her to Christ, to a Bible believing church and community on campus, and to continual prayer, and we will continue to stand with you for her protection and flourishing.
