I am starting to like a brother in Christ that attends the same church as me. I am praying for discipline, discernment from the Holy Spirit, and a guarded heart that will not idolize him or marriage. I am also praying for the Lord's will in my life and his, and if the Lord sees fit, that he will bring us together and lead us to start a Godly marriage and a Godly house that will serve the Lord. Most importantly, I pray that God will align the will of my heart with his will for me. In Jesus name I ask and pray, Amen.

We rejoice with you in this season of seeking the Lord’s will concerning your feelings for this brother in Christ. Your prayer reflects a heart that desires to honor God above all else, and we stand with you in agreement before the throne of grace. The discipline, discernment, and guarded heart you are asking for are essential as you navigate these emotions, for it is far too easy for our affections to drift into idolatry when we fix our eyes on anything—or anyone—more than we fix them on Christ.

The Word of God reminds us in Proverbs 4:23, *"Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life."* This is a wise and necessary exhortation, especially when it comes to matters of the heart. We must be vigilant to ensure that our desires, no matter how pure they may seem, do not eclipse our devotion to the Lord. Marriage is a sacred covenant, but it is not the ultimate fulfillment of our purpose—our ultimate fulfillment is found in Christ alone. As you pray for the Lord’s will, we encourage you to continue seeking Him first, trusting that if He has a godly marriage in store for you, it will unfold in His perfect timing and according to His perfect plan.

We also lift up this brother in Christ, asking the Lord to work in his heart as well. May he be a man who seeks the Lord wholeheartedly, whose life is marked by integrity, humility, and a deep love for God’s Word. If the Lord is indeed leading you both toward marriage, we pray that He would prepare you both individually and together to build a home that honors Him, a marriage that reflects the love of Christ for His Church, and a union that serves as a light in a dark world. Ephesians 5:22-33 lays out the beautiful design for marriage, where husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loved the Church, and wives are called to respect and submit to their husbands as unto the Lord. This is the foundation upon which a godly marriage is built.

However, we must also caution against allowing your emotions to lead you into premature attachment or distraction. Song of Solomon 2:7 says, *"I adjure you, daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, or by the hinds of the field, that you not stir up, nor awaken love, until it so desires."* This verse serves as a reminder that love is not something to be rushed or forced but is something that blossoms under the careful cultivation of the Lord. We encourage you to remain patient, to continue serving the Lord with your whole heart, and to trust that He will make His will clear in His time.

We also want to gently remind you of the importance of seeking godly counsel in this matter. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, *"Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."* Surround yourself with mature believers—perhaps your pastor, a trusted mentor, or godly friends—who can offer wisdom, accountability, and prayer as you navigate these feelings. Their insight can help you discern whether this is a godly attraction or simply an emotional response.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for this sister in Christ who seeks Your will above all else. Lord, we ask that You would grant her the discipline to keep her heart guarded and the discernment to recognize Your leading in her life. Protect her from idolatry, Father, and help her to fix her eyes on You alone, for You are the author and perfecter of her faith.

We lift up this brother in Christ as well, Lord. Work in his heart, drawing him closer to You and preparing him for whatever Your will may be. If it is Your plan for them to come together in marriage, we ask that You would guide their steps, align their hearts, and prepare them to build a home that honors You. May their relationship be rooted in You, Lord, and may it bear fruit for Your kingdom.

Father, we also ask that You would align the desires of her heart with Your will. Give her peace as she waits on You, and help her to trust in Your perfect timing. If this brother is not the one You have for her, we pray that You would remove any feelings that are not from You and replace them with a deeper love and devotion to Christ.

Lord, we thank You for the gift of marriage, a reflection of the love between Christ and His Church. May this sister, and all who seek godly spouses, find their ultimate fulfillment in You first and foremost. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're right there with you, sister, as you navigate these new feelings and seek the Lord's will. It's encouraging to see your heart yearning for discernment and a guarded heart. We've been praying for you, and we want to add a few more things to lift up to the Lord together.

First, let's ask for wisdom. James 1:5 tells us, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." We need wisdom to understand our feelings, to discern God's voice, and to make wise decisions. Let's ask God for a double portion of wisdom in this season.

Second, let's pray for patience. Waiting on the Lord can be tough, but it's a crucial part of our walk with Him. Let's ask for patience to wait on His timing, to trust in His plan, and to not rush into anything. We can find comfort in Psalm 27:14, "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."

Lastly, let's remember to keep our focus on Christ. No matter what happens, our ultimate joy and fulfillment are found in Him. Let's ask God to help us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, no matter what our feelings may be telling us.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You with thanksgiving for this ### who seeks Your will above all else. Lord, we ask for wisdom. Give her wisdom to understand her feelings, to discern Your voice, and to make wise decisions. Help her to trust in Your perfect timing and to be patient as she waits on You. Keep her eyes fixed on Jesus, no matter what her heart may be feeling. Help her to find her ultimate joy and fulfillment in You, not in any person or relationship. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
