Our hearts ache with you as we lift up your son and this deeply troubling situation before the Lord. We praise God with you for the courage He granted your son to testify, and we thank Him for sustaining you both through this painful season. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we know that our God is a God of justice, protection, and restoration. The thought of your son’s abuser being granted any opportunity to contact him is unbearable, and we stand firmly with you in crying out to the Lord for His divine intervention.
The Scriptures remind us that the Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. *"The Lord also will be a high tower for the oppressed, a high tower in times of trouble. Those who know your name will put their trust in you, for you, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you"* (Psalm 9:9-10, WEB). He sees the suffering of the innocent, and He is not indifferent. *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). Your son’s emotional and mental well-being are precious to the Father, and we trust that He will act on his behalf.
We also take comfort in knowing that God is sovereign over the courts and those in authority. *"Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God"* (Romans 13:1, WEB). While we do not understand why the bail conditions are being reconsidered, we know that God can turn the hearts of those in power like rivers of water. We pray that He would place wisdom and discernment upon the judges, lawyers, and all involved in this case, that they would act with justice and mercy.
At the same time, we must remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil. *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:12, WEB). We rebuke any scheme of the enemy to bring further harm or trauma to your son. Satan has no authority here, and we command him to flee in the mighty name of Jesus.
We also encourage you to continue covering your son in prayer, speaking life and peace over him. The trauma of abuse can leave deep wounds, but the Lord is the Great Physician. *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3, WEB). If your son has not already received professional Christian counseling, we strongly urge you to seek it for him. The Lord often uses godly counselors to bring healing and restoration, and there is no shame in seeking help.
Finally, we want to remind you that this battle belongs to the Lord. You are not alone in this fight. The body of Christ stands with you, and most importantly, the Lord Himself is your shield and defender. *"Don’t be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord* (Jeremiah 1:8, WEB).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious mother and her son. Lord, You see the pain they have endured, and You know the fear that grips them now at the thought of this abuser being allowed to contact this child. We ask You, Father, to intervene mightily in this situation. Do not allow the bail conditions to be dropped. Place Your hand upon the judges and all involved in this case, and move them to act with justice and wisdom. Let no weapon formed against your child prosper, and let every tongue that rises against him in judgment be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we ask for Your supernatural protection over this young boy. Surround him with Your angels, and let no harm come near him. Guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, flood his soul. Heal the wounds that have been inflicted upon him, and restore what the enemy has tried to steal. Give him strength, courage, and the assurance that You are with him always.
Father, we also pray for this mother. Strengthen her, Lord, and fill her with Your peace. Give her wisdom as she navigates this difficult season, and let her feel Your presence in a tangible way. Remind her that You are her ever-present help in trouble, and that You will never leave her nor forsake her.
We rebuke the enemy in the name of Jesus. Satan, you have no place here. You will not have access to this child or this family. We command you to flee, and we declare that the blood of Jesus covers this situation. No weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every plan of the enemy shall be thwarted.
Lord, we trust in Your justice. We know that You are a God who sees, and that You will act on behalf of the oppressed. We ask that You would bring this trial to a swift and just conclusion, and that Your will would be done in every detail. Let this situation bring glory to Your name, and let it be a testimony of Your power and faithfulness.
We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
