Prayer for brother

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for my own brother, who has allowed witchcraft into his life and is now, always attempting to deceive me or manipulate folks.. traits that he never had in our youth. May the Holy Spirit intervene, expose and cast out what the enemy is trying to perpetuate. In JESUS name. God bless you , prayerful brothers and sisters

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your brother and this deeply concerning situation. The Scriptures warn us clearly about the dangers of witchcraft and deception, for they are works of the flesh and tools of the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy. Galatians 5:19-21 tells us, "Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery [witchcraft], hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom."

The transformation you describe in your brother, deception, manipulation, traits foreign to his character, is a sobering sign of spiritual oppression. The enemy seeks to distort the image of God in us, turning love into control, truth into lies, and light into darkness. But we serve a God who is greater than any scheme of the devil. 1 John 4:4 declares, "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world." We stand on this truth today, believing that the Holy Spirit can intervene with power, conviction, and deliverance.

We also recognize that witchcraft is not merely an external influence but often a foothold given through unrepentant sin, rebellion, or a turning away from God’s truth. Ephesians 4:27 warns, "Don’t give place to the devil." Has your brother hardened his heart to the Lord? Has he embraced ideologies, practices, or relationships that open doors to darkness? We must pray not only for his deliverance but for his repentance, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts grieved by the grip of darkness on our brother’s life. Lord, we ask that You would shine the light of Your truth into every hidden place of deception and witchcraft. Expose the lies he has believed and the agreements he has made with the enemy. Break every chain, Lord, and cast out every spirit of manipulation, control, and deceit in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

Holy Spirit, we ask You to move with conviction and power. Soften his heart to receive Your correction and turn his eyes back to You. Where there is rebellion, bring humility. Where there is hardness, bring brokenness. Where there is darkness, flood his life with Your glorious light. Father, we plead the blood of Jesus over him, cleanse him, restore him, and renew his mind according to Your Word.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment for those around him, including our dear brother or sister who has submitted this request. Guard their heart against bitterness, fear, or the temptation to retaliate in the flesh. Help them to speak the truth in love, setting godly boundaries while extending grace. Remind them that vengeance belongs to You, Lord, and You will repay (Romans 12:19).

We stand on the promise of Joel 2:25, where You declare, "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten." Lord, restore the years the enemy has stolen from this family. Restore relationships, restore joy, and restore Your purpose in his life. May he become a testimony of Your redeeming power, a vessel for Your glory.

We pray all of this in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, the One who has disarmed principalities and powers and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross (Colossians 2:15). Amen.

To our dear brother or sister who has shared this burden, we want to encourage you with a few truths. First, do not grow weary in praying for your brother. The parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18 reminds us to always pray and not faint. Your prayers are not in vain, and the Lord hears the cries of His children.

Second, guard your own heart. The enemy would love to use this situation to sow seeds of anger, resentment, or fear in you. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." Your battle is not with your brother but with the spiritual forces at work in him. Clothe yourself daily in the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), and walk in love, even as Christ loved us and gave Himself for us (Ephesians 5:2).

Third, consider how you might lovingly but firmly address this issue with your brother. Proverbs 27:5-6 says, "Better is open rebuke than hidden love. Faithful are the wounds of a friend; although the kisses of an enemy are profuse." If you have a relationship with him where you can speak truth in love, ask the Holy Spirit to guide your words. Share your concerns, point him to Scripture, and encourage him to seek godly counsel, such as from a pastor or mature believer who can help him break free from these strongholds.

Finally, remember that our God is a God of restoration. He specializes in taking what the enemy means for evil and turning it for good (Genesis 50:20). Trust that the Lord is at work, even when you cannot see it. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and continue to walk in obedience to His Word. Your faithfulness in this trial may be the very thing that leads your brother back to the Lord.

We will continue to stand in the gap for your brother, believing that the Lord is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We hear how painful it must be to watch your brother change into someone who deceives and manipulates, so different from the brother you knew growing up. It makes sense you would feel both love for him and a need to guard your own heart, and we are standing with you in that tension.

We are praying for the Holy Spirit to work in his life with clarity and mercy, and for you to have wisdom and steadiness as you love him. It can help not to carry this burden alone. If you have a trusted pastor or a couple of mature believers who know you both, consider inviting them to pray with you regularly and to help you think through loving boundaries and how to respond when manipulation happens. Staying rooted in prayer, in fellowship and in your own walk with the Lord keeps you grounded while you intercede for him.

Father, we lift this brother to You and ask for Your light to expose what is hidden and Your power to break what holds him. Draw him back to Yourself and surround him with Your truth and love. Give our friend wisdom, protection and peace as he trusts You, and lead both brothers step by step in Your will. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your burden for your brother has been heard and we join with you in earnest prayer before the throne of grace for his deliverance.

It is a grievous thing to see one near and dear to you turn aside to witchcraft and to walk in ways of deceit and manipulation which were not in him in former years. This is indeed the power of darkness, and we are reminded that deliverance from the power of sin and from the guilt of sin is as much the work of God as any other mercy. Where we look for justification, there must we also look for sanctification, for as we are justified through Jesus Christ, we must also expect to receive cleansing and freedom from a heavenly source alone.

We do not ask God to bless that which He calls darkness, but we ask Him to shine His light upon it, to expose it, and to cast it out. The Scriptures declare that God has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. What man cannot do, God can do. He has not only invented a way of deliverance, but He has found a ransom. The King's own Son has borne the penalty for sin, and when God Himself proclaims, I have found a ransom, then deliverance is certain and already accomplished for all who will repent and believe.

Let us pray together for him.

O Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, we bring this brother before Thee. Thou seest how the enemy has sought to entangle him in witchcraft and to lead him into deceit. We pray that Thy Holy Spirit would intervene with convicting and converting power. Expose what is hidden, bring what is done in darkness into Thy light, and break the hold of the evil one upon his heart and mind. Cast out every influence that would perpetuate this bondage and lead him to repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation. Grant him to see his need of the ransom that Christ has provided, and to turn from these ways to follow Thee. Protect his family from deception and give them wisdom, discernment and steadfast love as they speak the truth.

And for you who have brought this request, take comfort in this, that it is not possible that you can perish praying. While you can plead a Father's love and cry with the Spirit of adoption to Him, you shall not be forsaken. Go to God in your trouble and seek Him still. He has heard the cry of His people in every age and has wrought deliverance when the lamb was slain. He will yet come to your deliverance and to your brother's if you rest your soul upon Christ.

We will continue to pray that the Lord who brings forth His people with a mighty hand would bring your brother forth from this pit and from this darkness into His marvelous light, that he may live and declare the works of the Lord. May the Lord grant you peace within and may you be kept from discord, abiding in prayer until you see His salvation.

In Jesus name we ask this, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your burden for your brother and we join you in bringing him before the Lord in prayer.

Your grief is right, for witchcraft and deception are not small things. Scripture warns us plainly that no idolater has inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God, and witchcraft is idolatry, a turning from the living God to empty powers. Let no man deceive you with empty words, for these things bring the wrath of God. What you describe, a change from the youth you knew to a life marked by deceiving and manipulating others, shows how the enemy works when a door is opened to him.

We take comfort that you see this clearly and have not made excuses for it. Many in every age try to explain away sin and say it is not so serious, but you have called it what it is and asked for the Holy Spirit to intervene, to expose what is hidden and to cast out what the enemy would perpetuate. That is the right prayer.

We also remember that our true irreconcilable foe is Satan, not flesh and blood. Your brother, even in this state, remains your brother and a man for whom Christ died. The devil it is who breeds enmity and delights in division, and against him we pray, that God would bruise Satan under our feet. When there is enmity between brothers there is a common loss, for both lose much until there is reconciliation. Our hope is that you may gain your brother, not for revenge or for your own relief only, but for his salvation and for the restoration of the bond God gave you.

So we pray with you:

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ your Son, through whom alone is salvation, we lift up this brother to you. Have mercy on him and deliver him from the power of darkness. Expose every work of witchcraft and deception, bring it into the light, and break its hold. Forgive his sin, cleanse him by the washing of regeneration, and fill him with your Holy Spirit. Give him a heart to repent and to turn from empty words and lying ways to truth. Protect his family from manipulation and guard their hearts from deception, and give them wisdom, patience and love to speak the truth without faltering. Cast out the work of the enemy and let Christ alone reign in this life. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who has conquered the evil one.

Continue to pray and to walk in truth, keeping close to the Word and to the fellowship of believers. Do not return evil for evil, but commit your brother to the Lord who is able to save and to restore. We will continue to stand with you in prayer that God will bring conviction, deliverance and a true turning to Christ.

Your burden for your brother is understandable and it is right to bring him before the Lord. It is painful to watch someone you have known since youth change and begin to walk in deception and manipulation. Scripture shows many brothers who hurt one another, deceived one another, and were estranged, and it also shows how God works to expose sin, bring conviction, and make reconciliation possible.

The Bible is clear that opening the door to witchcraft and to what it calls foreign gods is not a neutral thing. It is turning to the enemy and inviting darkness into a life, and the fruit will be what you are seeing, deceit and a desire to control others. When Jacob returned to the Lord he told his whole household to put away those foreign gods from among them. That is what your brother needs, to turn from that path completely. There is no deliverance or blessing in that way, and we cannot ask God to bless it. Deliverance comes only through Jesus Christ. He alone has authority to forgive sin and to cast out the works of darkness.

We join you in praying that the Holy Spirit will intervene. We pray that what is hidden will be exposed, that the enemy's lies will be brought into the light, and that every influence of witchcraft will be broken in Jesus name. Pray not only for an outward change but for true repentance. Scripture speaks of one who wept with bitterness and anger over what he had lost, yet had no real repentance in his heart. Tears alone do not save. What is needed is a broken heart that confesses sin and turns to Christ for mercy. Pray that God will grant your brother that kind of repentance, that he will acknowledge what he has done and receive forgiveness.

You also asked how to relate to him while he is in this condition. You are your brother's keeper in the sense that God calls you to love him, to tell the truth, and to pray for him, not to hate him or to repay deception with deception. Remember how one brother who had deeply wronged his brother later came to meet him with humility, bowing before him, speaking kindly to him, honoring him, and sharing generously from what God had given him. Love that blesses and does good, even to one who has threatened harm, is what God uses to soften a hard heart. Another brother, after being sold and betrayed by his own brothers, chose not to hold their sin against them but said God had sent him ahead to preserve life. God can use even family sin and suffering for good when hearts turn to Him.

So continue to pray, speak the truth in love, and set wise boundaries against manipulation. Do not be drawn into the deception yourself. Keep your own heart before the Lord, walk in His Word, and trust that His purposes will not fail even when people fail.

We pray with you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we bring this brother before You. You see where he has opened his life to witchcraft and to the enemy. We ask that You expose the lies, convict him of sin, and break every chain that holds him. Cast out what is not of You and cleanse him. Grant him true repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. Protect his sister and family from deception and manipulation, give them wisdom and strength to love him without partaking in evil, and restore what the enemy has tried to destroy. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who alone saves and delivers. Amen.
