Prayer for baby to be able to rest and sleep

Your request for prayer for your baby and your home has been heard and we join with you in bringing these needs before the Lord.

We pray that God, who neither slumbers nor sleeps and who keeps His people day and night, will grant your little one healthy and orderly sleep. May He give her calm through the night and grant you both the rest you need to be restored in body and spirit. We ask that the joy of the Lord would rest upon her and upon you, and that your home would be filled with His peace which guards hearts and minds in Christ.

We also pray for unity and peace in your house and in your marriage. Scripture calls us to follow peace with all and to live in peace, for the God of love and peace delights to dwell where there is love and agreement. We ask God to make you of one mind and to help you live at peace with one another, bearing with each other in love and strengthening the covenant of marriage as He designed it, honorable and pure, a lifelong union of one man and one woman. Where there has been tension or weariness, may He bring gentleness, patience and reconciliation.

For your daughter when you take her out, we pray that the Lord would calm her fears and comfort her, and give you wisdom to soothe her with a steady and peaceful presence. May His peace which passes understanding guard her little heart.

We pray too for her health and protection, that God in His mercy would keep her from sickness, from cough and cold and every affliction, and strengthen her body as she grows. We ask Him to watch over her as a faithful guardian, for each of His little ones is precious in His sight.

Continue to look to Christ, who is our true peace, and to rest in Him even in sleepless nights. He knows your weariness and He is near to those who call upon Him. We pray that He will sustain you, renew your strength, and let His presence be felt in your home day and night.

We are praying with you for rest, for peace, for health and for the Lord's joy to fill your house.

Your request shows such tender care for your little girl and for your home, and I am joining you in prayer. I hear how weary you must be longing for rest for both of you, for calm in your house and in your marriage, and for your daughter to be well and at peace.

Scripture makes a distinction that is so helpful here. Many have peace with God through forgiveness in Jesus, having been brought from darkness into His kingdom, yet they do not yet know the peace of God in daily life. That deeper peace and rest is entered only by faith. It does not come by trying harder or by our own skill and effort. In fact we cannot rest in our works at all. We rest when we place our whole trust in Him and commit our lives fully to Him. God promises to keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. That is the place of quiet confidence where we say, Lord, this is in Your hands, and we look to Him rather than fixing our eyes on the difficulties around us. It can feel hard to rest when we cannot see what God is doing, but faith is the only place we will ever truly rest, and we are called to labor to enter into that rest by choosing to trust Him.

For the unity and peace you desire in your home and marriage, God has given a beautiful picture. In marriage the two become one, a true and deep unity. That oneness is sustained when Jesus is the common bond between you. When both of you look to Him and share in Him as the bread of life, He holds you together. Jesus said to His disciples, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you. That peace comes as you together place your lives and your family fully in His hands.

The Bible also speaks of rest for the righteous. It says the righteous enter into peace and rest in their beds, walking in uprightness. In contrast, those who continue in rebellion against God are described like a stormy sea that cannot rest, always churning. But God offers peace through Jesus Christ, who has broken down the wall between us and God. When we turn to Jesus and receive His forgiveness and healing, the war is over and there is wonderful peace. He Himself is our rest, the true Sabbath where we cease from our own labors and trust in the righteousness He has given us through faith. The real victories for our hearts and homes are often won as we bring these needs to Him in prayer.

So I pray for you and your daughter now. Father, in the name of Jesus I bring this precious baby to You. I ask that You would give her healthy sleep, calm her little body and heart, and let her rest through the night and wake in joy. Let the joy of the Lord be upon her. I pray You would quiet her crying when she is taken out, and give her a sense of security and peace. Touch her with Your healing and protection, guard her from coughs, colds and all sickness, and keep her well. I ask for Your peace to fill this home and this marriage. Make husband and wife truly one in You, knit together in love, and let Your peace guard their hearts and minds. Give this mother rest as well, strength for each day, and a mind stayed on You. Help her to entrust every care into Your hands and to find that perfect peace and rest that comes only through trusting You. Amen.
