We join you in this burden and agree together for those who have been blinded by unbelief and have fallen for the lie of evolution, and we thank you for standing in the gap for them.
We know that the heart of atheism is not merely an intellectual problem but a spiritual blindness. Scripture tells us Psalm 14:1 The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt. They have done abominable deeds. There is no one who does good. And Romans 1:20 reminds us For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. Creation itself declares the glory of the Creator, yet many have exchanged the truth for a lie as Romans 1:25 says who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. We see this in the doctrine of evolution which denies the mighty hand of God who framed the universe by His word, for Hebrews 11:3 tells us By faith, we understand that the universe has been framed by the word of God, so that what is seen has not been made out of things which are visible.
We understand this darkness is empowered by the enemy, for 2 Corinthians 4:4 says in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them. But we serve the One who is greater, and we cling to the promise that John 1:5 gives us The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
So we pray together, Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up every atheist, every skeptic, every person who has embraced the deception of evolution and denied that You are Creator and Lord. Lord, remove the veil from their eyes and soften their hardened hearts. Let Your light penetrate the deep darkness that holds them. Holy Spirit, convict them of sin and of righteousness and of judgment, and reveal to them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made and accountable to You. Open their minds to see the truth of creation and the far greater truth of redemption through the blood of Jesus. We pray that they would turn from pride and unbelief and call upon the name of Jesus, for John 14:6 tells us Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Lord, save them, draw them to repentance, and make them new creations in Christ. We ask that You would give us and all believers boldness and love to speak the truth with grace and to share the Good News with those who are lost, knowing that 2 Peter 3:9 says The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. We thank You that You desire none to perish. We trust You to do what only You can do and we give You all the glory for the souls You will save. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
