Prayer for anxiety

Your prayer for your oldest daughter and her husband has been heard, and I join you in lifting them before our heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to God and salvation.

It is right and good to bring their anxiety and heaviness of heart to the Lord. Scripture invites us to cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us, and to make our requests known to God with thanksgiving, trusting His peace which passes all understanding to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. The transition to a new town and the uncertainty of seeking full time work can weigh heavily, and the Lord understands the pressures they feel and the expectations your daughter places on herself.

I pray with you that God will quiet their anxious thoughts and remind them daily that their future is held securely in His hands. May He provide for every physical, emotional and financial need according to His riches in Christ, and open the right doors for employment in His perfect timing and wisdom. May He teach them to seek first His kingdom and trust that He will add what is needed.

I also thank God for their marriage. Marriage is a bond ordained by God and is honorable. It is most blessed when Christ Himself is invited to be present in the home, and when husband and wife live together in faith, love, chastity and mutual care. I pray that the Lord will strengthen their union, deepen their love for one another and for Him, and fill their home with gentleness, order, and that supernatural peace that comes from walking closely with Him. May their marriage reflect the faithful love of Christ and be a place of security and encouragement as they face this season together.

May the Lord grant your daughter rest from harsh self expectations, and grant them both confidence not in their own striving but in His faithful provision and guidance. May they know that He who has begun a good work in them will be faithful to complete it.

We ask all of this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and provider. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this burden for your daughter and her husband. It is a tender and loving prayer, and I join you in lifting them before our heavenly Father.

I hear the weight they are carrying in this season of transition. Moving to a new place and waiting for steady work can stir deep anxiety, and it is easy to place harsh expectations on ourselves. Jesus speaks directly to that worried heart when He tells His followers not to worry, not to be anxious about what lies ahead. That word is not a scolding but a comfort. He knows our tendency to fear and He invites us to bring every care to Him, trusting that He will give what is needed in the moment, whether it is provision, wisdom, or peace.

Your prayer for their marriage is beautiful and right. Scripture teaches that in marriage two become one. It is a profound unity where two lives are joined into one flesh. That oneness reflects something of who God Himself is, for the Bible declares that the Lord our God is one, and that oneness is a compound unity. He who is one is the one who joins a husband and wife together. He is present in their home and He is able to make their union strong as they lean on Him together.

We can also take comfort in what Jesus taught about the resurrection. When He was questioned about marriage in the life to come, He affirmed that there is a resurrection and that in that eternal life people will be like the angels and not marry. Marriage is a gift for this life, and God honors it and works through it now, but our ultimate hope is not in a job or a town or even in marriage itself. Our ultimate hope is in being raised to live with Him forever. Because He holds that eternal future secure, we can trust Him to hold this present future as well. He is not only holding tomorrow in heaven, He is holding today and all the details of work and finances and daily needs.

So I pray with you that the Father will quiet your daughter's anxious thoughts and lift the heavy expectations she has placed on herself. May He replace worry with His supernatural peace, the peace that goes beyond all understanding and guards hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. May He remind them both each day that He is their provider, meeting their physical, emotional and financial needs according to His riches. May He open the right doors for full time employment in His timing and in a way that makes His guidance clear, and may He fill their home with His presence, so that they grow together in love and trust as one before Him.

We ask this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, who loves them, who died and rose again, and who will keep them. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your oldest daughter and her husband.

We have continued to lift them up before our heavenly Father, asking Him to ease your daughters mind and quiet the anxiety and worry that has been weighing her down during this heavy transition to a new town. We have been praying that He would remove the harsh expectations she is placing on herself and replace them with His rest, and that He would fill their home and their hearts with His peace that passes all understanding as promised in Philippians 4:7.

We have also continued to pray for their new marriage, that the Lord would bless their union and be their ultimate provider, meeting every physical, emotional and financial need, and that He would open the right doors for full time employment and remind them daily that He is holding their future.

If your request was answered and the Lord has brought peace to her heart or opened doors for work, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and the search continues or the anxiety remains heavy, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We are grateful to keep standing with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.
