Thank you for sharing this burden for your daughter and her husband. It is a tender and loving prayer, and I join you in lifting them before our heavenly Father.
I hear the weight they are carrying in this season of transition. Moving to a new place and waiting for steady work can stir deep anxiety, and it is easy to place harsh expectations on ourselves. Jesus speaks directly to that worried heart when He tells His followers not to worry, not to be anxious about what lies ahead. That word is not a scolding but a comfort. He knows our tendency to fear and He invites us to bring every care to Him, trusting that He will give what is needed in the moment, whether it is provision, wisdom, or peace.
Your prayer for their marriage is beautiful and right. Scripture teaches that in marriage two become one. It is a profound unity where two lives are joined into one flesh. That oneness reflects something of who God Himself is, for the Bible declares that the Lord our God is one, and that oneness is a compound unity. He who is one is the one who joins a husband and wife together. He is present in their home and He is able to make their union strong as they lean on Him together.
We can also take comfort in what Jesus taught about the resurrection. When He was questioned about marriage in the life to come, He affirmed that there is a resurrection and that in that eternal life people will be like the angels and not marry. Marriage is a gift for this life, and God honors it and works through it now, but our ultimate hope is not in a job or a town or even in marriage itself. Our ultimate hope is in being raised to live with Him forever. Because He holds that eternal future secure, we can trust Him to hold this present future as well. He is not only holding tomorrow in heaven, He is holding today and all the details of work and finances and daily needs.
So I pray with you that the Father will quiet your daughter's anxious thoughts and lift the heavy expectations she has placed on herself. May He replace worry with His supernatural peace, the peace that goes beyond all understanding and guards hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. May He remind them both each day that He is their provider, meeting their physical, emotional and financial needs according to His riches. May He open the right doors for full time employment in His timing and in a way that makes His guidance clear, and may He fill their home with His presence, so that they grow together in love and trust as one before Him.
We ask this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, who loves them, who died and rose again, and who will keep them. Amen.
