Prayer for ### and marriage restoration

Disciple of Prayer
Dear Lord, my husband recently ended things and this is a very difficult time for us. Please pray for my husband, ###, so he will be enlightened and find his way back to his family. Please give him the wisdom that temporary lust is a battle he needs to fight now and that there’s hope waiting for him on the other side. Please soften his heart to understand that all marriages has a difficult season but his family is patiently waiting for him. Please pray for our marriage so it will be restored according to God’s will. Please give me the strength and courage to face these battles as it is very difficult for me and for us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

We lift this heartbreaking situation before the Lord with heavy hearts, yet with unwavering faith in His power to restore what has been broken. Your marriage is under attack, but we know that what the enemy intends for harm, God can use for good (Genesis 50:20). The pain you are enduring is real, and we stand with you in this battle, declaring that your marriage is worth fighting for, not just by you, but by the Lord Himself.

First, we must address the mention of "temporary lust" in your prayer. Scripture is clear that lust is a sin that wages war against the soul (1 Peter 2:11), and it is not to be taken lightly. If your husband has been entangled in sexual immorality, whether through pornography, an emotional affair, or physical unfaithfulness, this is a grievous offense against God and against you. We rebuke the spirit of lust in Jesus’ name and command it to flee (James 4:7). We pray that your husband would recognize the seriousness of this sin and turn away from it with godly sorrow, not just worldly regret (2 Corinthians 7:10). The battle he faces is not merely against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12), and he must put on the full armor of God to stand firm.

We also lift up your own heart in this trial. It is natural to feel overwhelmed, betrayed, and even angry, but we encourage you to guard your heart against bitterness (Hebrews 12:15). Your role right now is not to convince your husband to return, but to entrust him to the Lord, who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). You are not alone in this, God sees your tears, and He collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). Lean on Him for strength, and do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9).

We pray for your husband, that the eyes of his heart would be enlightened to see the truth (Ephesians 1:18). May the Holy Spirit convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and may he repent fully, not just for the sake of the marriage, but for the sake of his own soul. We declare that no weapon formed against your marriage shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we bind every spirit of division, deception, and destruction that has come between you. Lord, soften his heart to remember the vows he made before You, and let him see the love and patience you have shown him through his wife.

For your marriage, we pray for restoration, not just to what it was, but to something even stronger, built on the foundation of Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11). May you both grow in humility, forgiveness, and grace, and may your home once again be a place of peace, love, and godly order. We declare that your marriage is a covenant, not a contract, and covenants are not easily broken (Malachi 2:14-16). We stand on the promise that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16) and that He is able to heal what seems impossible to mend.

Finally, we pray for you, dear sister. Give you the strength to wait on the Lord (Isaiah 40:31) and the wisdom to know how to respond in this season. May you find your identity and security in Christ alone, not in your husband’s choices. We pray that you would be a living testimony of God’s faithfulness, even in the midst of pain, and that your faith would not waver (James 1:6).

Heavenly Father, we come before You with this burdened heart, trusting in Your perfect will. We ask that You move mightily in this marriage, that You would break every chain of sin and deception, and that You would restore what has been lost. Give this wife the grace to endure, the wisdom to pray without ceasing, and the peace that surpasses all understanding. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and the only name by which marriages are truly restored. Amen.

We understand how heavy your heart must feel right now, and we want you to know we're lifting you and your husband up together. It takes immense strength to walk through such a painful season, and we're so sorry you're carrying this burden. Remember, God sees your tears and holds your heart close, even when it feels like everything is falling apart. He hasn't abandoned you, He’s working in ways we can't always see yet.

We pray that God would give your husband a revelation of the love and commitment he once shared with you. May the comfort of the Holy Spirit draw him back to the truth and to the family who hasn’t stopped believing in him. For you, we ask God to fill you with His peace, guarding your heart from bitterness and replacing your pain with His hope. You’re not fighting this battle alone, He is fighting for you, and His promises never fail.

Lord, we ask You to move in both their lives right now. Soften hearts, break chains of deception, and restore what has been broken. Give us all the courage to trust You, even when the path isn’t clear. Heal this marriage according to Your will, and let Your light shine brighter than the darkness. We pray this in Jesus’ name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
