Prayer for an Employment Contract

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, thank You for opening doors of employment. Grant me favour to secure a good employment contract, with fair terms, stability, growth, and opportunities to use my gifts. Give me wisdom to understand every agreement and grace to excel in my work. Let my career and business prosper and contribute to the wealth of nations. “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee.” — Job 22:28 Amen.

We join you in thanking our Heavenly Father for opening doors of employment and we agree with you in prayer for His favor upon this employment contract.

We love your heart to seek stability, fair terms, growth, and opportunity to use the gifts God has given you. God delights to give wisdom and to establish the work of our hands when we commit our ways to Him. As it is written, Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed Prov 16:3, and Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Col 3:23. We pray that whatever contract is placed before you will be one that honors God, provides for your needs, and allows you to serve with excellence and integrity.

We also want to gently encourage you regarding your access to the Father. You prayed to Heavenly Father, which is good, but we notice you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and to bring every prayer to the Father in His precious name.

You quoted Job 22:28, Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee. We receive this with the understanding that our decrees are effective only when they align with God's will and Word. True prosperity comes as we walk in obedience and diligence. Remember that it is Yahweh your God who gives you power to get wealth Deut 8:18, and that The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit Prov 21:5. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You. Thank You for Your provision and for the doors You have already opened. We ask for Your favor to secure a good and fair employment contract with stability and opportunity for growth. Grant wisdom to understand every clause and agreement and discernment to make godly decisions. Let Your favor rest upon the work of their hands Ps 90:17 and cause their career and business to prosper for Your glory and for the good of others. Help them to use their gifts faithfully to contribute to their family, community, and nation. We commit this contract into Your hands and trust Your perfect plan, for we know Your thoughts toward us are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give hope and a future Jer 29:11. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

We are thankful you brought this request to us, and we hear how much this contract means to you, not just income, but stability, a place to use the gifts God has given you, and work you can do with integrity.

Waiting for the right door to open can be wearying, especially when you want to be faithful with what is in front of you. We are praying with you for favor and for clear wisdom as you weigh any offer that comes.

A couple of practical steps that often help in this season:

It can help to write down what a fair and sustainable agreement would look like for you, the terms, hours, responsibilities, and opportunities for growth that would allow you to do your work well and care for your other responsibilities. Having that clarity makes it easier to recognize a good fit and to ask thoughtful questions.

And before you sign anything, ask a trusted person with experience in employment matters to read it with you, so you fully understand every part of the agreement.

We are also praying you have encouragement in the daily work you are doing now, even while you wait.

Father, we bring our brother before You and thank You for the way You provide and open doors. Grant wisdom to understand every agreement, grace to work with excellence, and guidance toward a contract that is fair and stable. Lead his steps and let his work be a blessing to others. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We join you in giving thanks to our heavenly Father who opens doors that no man can shut, and we bring your request before Him who works all things by the hammer of His omnipotence upon the anvil of His wisdom.

It is good to seek honest labour and to desire a contract ordered with fairness and clarity. We pray that the Lord will grant you favour in the eyes of those who weigh your cause, and give you wisdom to understand every agreement set before you. Wisdom is the compass by which a man must steer across the trackless waste of life, and its price is above rubies. It is not found in our own strength or quickness, for there is not much more wisdom in man's judgment of God than in the flies fabled judgment of an elephant. True wisdom is found in Christ and in consulting with the Eternal whose wisdom can make no mistake and whose love can never err. Seek Him first, and ask Him to make your path plain.

You ask for stability and growth. Remember that perfect stability belongs alone to God, He alone is without variableness or shadow of turning. He is immutable and will not change, all wise and needing not to change, perfect and able not to change. A contract, a position, even a career cannot give what only God can give. Therefore we pray that your stability would be in Him, and that from that settled confidence you may work with constancy and quiet diligence, which even the world respects.

We pray also that God will give you grace to excel, not for vainglory but that you may use the gifts He has entrusted to you with faithfulness and honesty, to provide for those entrusted to your care and to do good to others. All in good time when wisdom ordains the hour, the Lord in His providence orders our steps. What He does is always best, and we may truly pray, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Concerning the word you quoted, Thou shalt also decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee, we would remind you gently that it is God who decrees and establishes, not we ourselves. Our hope is not in the power of our own words, but in humble trust in His sovereign will. So we do not decree, we entreat. We ask that if it be His good pleasure, He would establish the work of your hands and grant you fair terms, opportunity for growth, and a place where your gifts may be usefully employed.

May the Lord grant you a clear mind to read every term with understanding, a conscience kept tender before Him, and hands ready for faithful labour. May He keep you from anxiety and lead you to rest in His love, for He rejoices over His people with singing when He is at work for their good.

We pray thus: Heavenly Father, we thank You for every open door of employment. In Your mercy grant to this Your servant favour and understanding, wisdom to discern what is right, and grace to labour faithfully as unto Christ. If it be Your will, provide a contract that is fair and honourable, and establish the work of his hands for Your glory. Let whatever prosperity You give be used with generosity and integrity. Above all keep him trusting in Jesus Christ, in whom alone is salvation and true wisdom. In His name we pray, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We thank God with you for the doors He has opened and join you in asking for His guidance in this next step. Work is a good gift from God, and it is right to ask for wisdom and favor as you seek a contract that is fair, stable, and suited to the gifts He has given you.

We pray that the Lord will grant you discernment as you read and consider every term of any agreement placed before you, that you would understand what you are signing and act with honesty and prudence. We ask that He would provide employment where you can labor faithfully and grow in virtue, using your gifts not for idleness or mere gain, but for His glory and for the good of others. As Scripture teaches, if anyone will not work, neither shall he eat, and yet those who are able to do good are not to grow weary in well doing. In this way work itself becomes a guard for the soul, keeping us from sloth and empty curiosity, and giving us opportunity to serve Christ.

Concerning the verse you mentioned from Job 22, we gently remind you that those words were spoken by Eliphaz, Job's friend, and not as a promise that whatever we decree will happen. Our confidence is not in our own decrees, but in the wise and loving will of our Father. So we do not decree outcomes, we humbly ask Him.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your provision and for the work of our hands. We ask for Your favor upon our brother as he seeks a good employment contract. Grant him clarity of mind to understand every agreement, integrity to walk uprightly, and grace to excel in his work as one working for You and not for men. Provide stability and opportunity for growth according to Your will, and make his labor fruitful for his family, his community, and Your kingdom. Above all, keep him close to Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation, and form him more and more into Your likeness. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Thank you for sharing this request and for your desire to honor the Lord in your work. It is good that you are asking not only for open doors but for wisdom to walk through them well.

Scripture presents wisdom as the principal thing to seek. We are urged to get wisdom and with all our getting to get understanding. Wisdom is pictured as calling out in the open, in the streets and at the gates, inviting anyone who will listen to come and learn. To have wisdom is better than to have mere knowledge or facts, and it is better than rubies or riches, because nothing we desire can compare with it. The Lord Himself founded the earth by wisdom and established the heavens by understanding, and in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

There are two kinds of wisdom. The wisdom of this world, even at its highest, apart from God, comes to nothing. History shows this, and Scripture says the world by its wisdom did not know God, and God has made foolish the wisdom of the world. That earthly wisdom is marked by envy and strife and self seeking. But the wisdom that comes from above is different. It is pure, it leads to a clean and upright life, and it produces peace. The beginning of that true wisdom is the fear of the Lord, a humble reverence for Him that hates evil and loves what is right.

This is directly relevant to an employment contract. Many people are willing to do anything to secure a contract, cutting corners or taking advantage of others. God desires something else for His people. He wants you to be fair, honest, upright and straight in all business dealings. Wisdom dwells with prudence and gives the ability to see what is right and to act with integrity. Wisdom is also a defense, as money is a defense, but wisdom has this excellency that it gives life to those who have it.

You asked for favor to secure good and fair terms, for stability and growth, and for opportunity to use the gifts God has given you. God is pleased when we ask as Solomon did, not first for money or position, but for wisdom to fulfill the calling He has placed before us. When Solomon asked for wisdom to lead well, the Lord was pleased and added to him what he had not sought. Seek first the wisdom to understand every agreement, to weigh it carefully, and to do your work with excellence as unto the Lord, and trust Him to provide what you need.

In practical terms this means bringing your decisions into the light, reading every term with care, and seeking counsel. Scripture says without counsel purposes are disappointed, but in the multitude of counselors they are established. Before you sign, seek godly counsel from mature believers who can help you discern what is fair and wise, and pray for the Spirit of wisdom and understanding to guide you.

You quoted that you shall decree a thing and it shall be established. Remember that our confidence is not in the power of our own words, but in submitting our plans to the Lord and asking that His will be established. When we decree or purpose something in alignment with His wisdom and His word, He establishes our way.

Let us pray together.

Father, in the name of Jesus we thank You for opening doors of employment and for the gifts You have placed in this life. We ask You to grant favor and to provide a contract that is fair, stable, and honest, where gifts can be used for Your glory and for the good of others. Grant wisdom and understanding to comprehend every term and to make decisions with prudence and integrity. Give grace to excel in work, to be diligent and faithful, and to walk in the wisdom that comes from above, which is pure and peaceable. Establish the work of these hands according to Your will, and let this career be a means to provide, to serve, and to contribute to the welfare of others. We ask this trusting in Jesus Christ, who has been made unto us wisdom and righteousness, and in whom we have all we need. Amen.
