Your request has been heard and we are standing with you in prayer before God, giving thanks for your trust and your desire to seek Him.
You have carried this affliction for decades and you say you cannot live with it any longer. God sees the length of this trial and He has not forgotten you. Scripture teaches us not to think that affliction is a sign that God has abandoned us. On the contrary, whom the Lord loves He chastens, and He scourges every son whom He receives. The wide and broad way leads to destruction, but the narrow and afflicted way leads to life, and every righteous person must walk through affliction in some form. This does not mean God delights in your pain, but that He permits it for a time as a schoolmaster, to train the soul, to wean us from disordered passions, and to work in us what is lasting.
For this reason we are taught not to sink under affliction but to bear it bravely, to remain sober and watchful, and to hold fast to God in frequent prayer and in a full purpose toward good works. Tribulation works patience, and patience experience, and experience hope, and hope does not put us to shame. What feels heavy and insupportable now can become light when grace strengthens us, and the light affliction which is but for a moment is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory that cannot be compared with present sufferings. Even when we feel changed by sorrow, God knows how to keep the heart that trusts in Him.
So we pray with you and for you in agreement in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father.
Heavenly Father, we lift this dear one to You. You know the affliction that has lasted for decades, every burden and every wound. We ask for Your mercy and Your favor according to Your perfect will. Grant deliverance where there has been long bondage, healing where there has been hurt, and peace where there has been unrest. Guard this life from the schemes of principalities and powers of darkness, and let Your truth and light prevail. Teach us to pray without ceasing and to give thanks in all things, trusting that You will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able to bear, and that You will provide the way of escape. Let Your glory be seen, not for our own exaltation but that Your name would be honored in all the earth, and form in us patience, hope, and holiness through Christ. Strengthen faith to endure, to rejoice even in hardship, and to walk the narrow way that leads to eternal life. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, with thanksgiving. Amen.
We will continue to stand with you in faith and prayer. Keep seeking the Lord daily in His Word and in prayer, and cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
