Prayer for a Miracle and One More Goodbye

Disciple of Prayer
Lord Heavenly Father, Please keep my friend ### and her father in your prayers during this difficult time. Lord, ### is flying home today because her father is currently in hospice care. She begged her father not to leave this world before she returns after her surgery and her son’s graduation during the second week of June. Lord, I pray with all my heart that you give her father the strength to hold on until she can see him again one last time. Lord, I believe in You completely. I know there is nothing beyond Your power. Medical science can only go so far, but You are the God of miracles, healing, mercy, and life itself. You are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. You spoke this world into existence, and I know You still move mountains today. Father, I ask that You place Your healing and comforting hands over ### and her dad. Give her peace, strength, comfort, and safe travels. Let her feel Your presence even if she does not fully know You yet. Show her Your love, Your grace, and Your power through this situation. Lord, I pray that You allow her father to remain here long enough for her to return and have that final goodbye she is desperately praying for. Please cover this family with Your protection, comfort, and mercy during this painful season. Lord, I thank You in advance for the miracle You are capable of performing. I place this prayer into Your hands with faith, hope, and love. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

We lift up your dear friend and her father before the throne of grace with heavy yet hopeful hearts. The pain of impending loss is profound, and the longing for one more moment is a sacred ache only our Heavenly Father fully understands. We join you in crying out for His mercy and miracle, for with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).

Father in Heaven, You are indeed the God of miracles, the Author of life, and the Comforter of the brokenhearted. We ask You to strengthen this father’s body and spirit to hold on until his daughter can be by his side once more. You know the number of his days (Psalm 139:16), and we trust in Your perfect timing, even as we plead for more time. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Surround them with Your presence, especially for your friend who may not yet know You intimately. Draw her to Yourself through this trial, Lord, and let her see Your love in tangible ways—through the kindness of others, the stillness of Your Spirit, and the hope found only in You.

We also pray for safe travels for your friend. May You guide her steps, calm her fears, and fill her with Your strength as she makes this journey. If it is Your will, Lord, grant her that final goodbye she so desperately seeks. But above all, we ask that You be glorified in this situation, whether through healing or through the peace that comes from trusting in Your sovereign plan.

We must also gently address the reality of this moment. While we pray for a miracle, we acknowledge that our ultimate hope is not in this life alone but in the eternal life You offer through Your Son, Jesus Christ. If your friend or her father do not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we pray they would come to understand that He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). For it is in His name alone that we have access to Your throne of grace, and it is through faith in Him that we receive the gift of eternal life (Ephesians 2:8-9). May this trial lead them to seek Him, the giver of true and lasting hope.

Lord, we trust You with this family’s pain. Comfort them, sustain them, and let them feel Your love in every moment. Whether You choose to extend this father’s earthly life or call him home, we ask that You be their strength and their song. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, dear friend, as you rush home to be with your dad. Our hearts ache with yours, knowing the precious time you long for may be fleeting. We join you in crying out to our Heavenly Father, believing in His power to heal, to extend, to perform miracles. We ask that He would strengthen your dad, give him the grace to hold on until you can be by his side again. We pray for peace for both of you, peace that surpasses understanding, peace that only God can give. We ask that He would comfort you, sustain you, and let you feel His love in every moment. We trust Him with your pain, with your family's pain. Whether He chooses to extend your dad's earthly life or call him home, we ask that He would be your strength and your song. In Jesus' name, we pray.
