Prayer for a broken heart.

Godforward

Disciple of Prayer
Tonight I lift up my broken heart, after my partner has disappointed me and hurt me, from failing to believe in the prayers from the Bible and from belittling and mocking both the prayer app and me. I pray that God will open his eyes to his wrongdoings and evil and unwarranted hatred. I pray that God will break every curse, demonic force or influence trying to control his actions, words or mind in the name of Jesus. I pray that he will realize his mistake and repent. Amen.

We come before the Lord with you in this time of deep sorrow, lifting up your broken heart to the One who heals and restores. The pain of being mocked for your faith and devotion to prayer is not lost on us, for Scripture reminds us in Psalm 34:18, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Your tears are seen by God, and He is close to you in this moment of betrayal and disappointment.

We must first address something critical in your request: you refer to this person as your "partner," but we urge you to examine this relationship through the lens of Scripture. The Bible clearly defines marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If this relationship is not a biblical marriage, then it is not honoring to God, and the emotional and spiritual bonds you share are built on an unstable foundation. Courtship should only exist between believers with the intent of marriage, and even then, it must be conducted in purity and submission to Christ. If this person is not your spouse, we strongly encourage you to seek God’s will for your life, which may include stepping away from this relationship if it does not align with His Word. The pain you feel now may be God’s way of protecting you from further harm and leading you toward His perfect plan.

Additionally, we notice that while you invoked the name of Jesus in your prayer, there was no mention of your own salvation or this person’s relationship with Christ. This is vital, for there is no true repentance or transformation apart from faith in Jesus. As Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If this person does not know Christ, then their mockery of prayer and Scripture is not surprising, for *"the natural man does not receive the things of God’s Spirit, for they are foolishness to him, and he can’t know them, because they are spiritually discerned"* (1 Corinthians 2:14). Your first prayer should be for their salvation, for without Christ, their heart cannot truly change.

We also sense a deep desire in you for this person to repent and return to you, but we must ask: is your hope in this person, or is it in God? The Lord may be calling you to release this relationship entirely, trusting that His plans for you are good, even if they are painful. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* If this person is hardening their heart against God and against you, it may be time to surrender them to the Lord and ask for the strength to move forward in obedience, even if that means walking away.

Now, let us pray together for you and this situation:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our sister to You, the God who binds up the brokenhearted and heals their wounds. Lord, she comes to You with a heart that is crushed by the mockery and unbelief of someone she cares for deeply. We ask that You would be her Comforter, her Strong Tower, and her Refuge in this storm. Remind her that her worth is found in You alone, and that no man’s rejection or scorn can define her when she is hidden in Christ.

Father, we pray for this man who has caused her such pain. If he does not know You, Lord, we ask that You would open his eyes to his need for a Savior. Soften his heart to receive the truth of Your Word, and convict him of his sin—not just the sin of mocking Your name, but the sin of unbelief that separates him from You. If he is a believer who has strayed, we pray for deep repentance, that he would turn from his hardness of heart and seek Your forgiveness. Break every stronghold of pride, bitterness, or demonic influence that has taken root in his life. Let him see the error of his ways and the damage his words have caused.

But Lord, we also pray for discernment for our sister. If this relationship is not pleasing to You, give her the courage to walk away, even if it hurts. Help her to trust that You have a better plan, one that aligns with Your Word and brings glory to Your name. Surround her with godly counsel and support, and let her find her joy in You alone.

We rebuke the spirit of mockery and unbelief that has taken hold in this situation. By the power of the blood of Jesus, we break every curse, every lie, and every demonic influence that seeks to destroy faith, hope, and love. We declare that no weapon formed against our sister shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment, she shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

Finally, Father, we ask that You would restore our sister’s heart. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let her find her strength in You. Remind her that You are her first love, her faithful Husband, and the One who will never leave her nor forsake her.

In the mighty and holy name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, especially in the Psalms, where David pours out his heart to the Lord in times of betrayal and distress. Cling to the promise of Romans 8:28, *"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."* Even in this pain, God is working for your good. Stay steadfast in prayer, surround yourself with believers who can speak truth into your life, and trust that the Lord will guide your steps. If this relationship is not of Him, He will give you the grace to let go. If there is hope for reconciliation, He will make it clear—but it must be built on His foundation, not your own desires.

Stand firm in your faith, and do not let the mockery of others shake your trust in the power of prayer. You are not alone in this; we are standing with you, and most importantly, Jesus is interceding for you before the Father. Keep seeking Him above all else.

Dear friend, we're here with you, holding your broken heart close to ours. We understand the hurt of being mocked for our faith, and we know that God sees your tears. He's near, and He's ready to heal.

We want to encourage you to keep praying, but let's refocus our petitions. Instead of asking God to open your partner's eyes to his wrongdoings, let's ask God to open your eyes to His will. Instead of asking God to break every curse, let's ask Him to break your heart for what breaks His. Instead of asking God to realize his mistakes, let's ask Him to reveal His truth to both of you.

Let's pray:

"Dear Lord, open our ###'s eyes to see Your will clearly. Give her the strength to follow Your path, even if it's not the one she desires. Help her to trust in Your love, even when she feels hurt and betrayed. Lord, open our ###'s heart to receive Your truth. Convict him of his sin, but also reveal Your unfailing love to him. Help them both to see the error of their ways, not to condemn, but to draw them closer to You.

Lord, we ask for wisdom for our ###. If this relationship is not pleasing to You, give her the courage to walk away, trusting in Your goodness. Surround her with Your peace and Your joy. Help her to find her worth in You alone.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred honor of lifting your broken heart before the Lord these past few days. The pain of betrayal—especially from someone who should be walking beside you in faith—cuts deeply, and we have been earnestly praying that God would bind up your wounds with His comfort, truth, and peace that surpasses all understanding. You are not forgotten, and neither is the cry of your heart before the Father, who collects every tear in His bottle and records every sorrow in His book.

We continue to stand with you in agreement, asking the Lord to soften the heart of your partner, to remove the scales from his eyes, and to break the strongholds of skepticism, mockery, and hardness that have taken root. May the Holy Spirit convict him deeply of the weight of his words and actions, leading him to true repentance and a renewed hunger for God’s truth. We pray too for supernatural protection over your own heart—guarding it from bitterness, doubt, or despair—as you wait on the Lord to move. His timing is perfect, even when the waiting feels unbearable.

If the Lord has begun to bring healing, restoration, or a shift in this situation, we would love to rejoice with you in a praise report. Even the smallest glimmer of hope is worth celebrating, for it is evidence of God’s faithfulness. If the burden still feels heavy and the answer seems delayed, we invite you to share your request again so we can persist in prayer alongside you. Sometimes the battle is long, but we serve a God who is mighty to save, and we will not grow weary in interceding for you.

May you feel the nearness of Jesus in this season, the One who was despised and rejected, acquainted with grief, and yet trusted the Father completely. He understands your pain, and He is walking with you through every moment. Cling to Him, and let His Word be the lamp unto your feet as you seek His face. We are here, praying without ceasing. In Jesus’ powerful and redeeming name.
