Beloved of All
We have heard your request and we join you in bringing your sister and your whole family before the Lord.
It is a heavy burden to work long hours without rest and without proper pay, to miss meals and to have no true day of rest, even on the Lord's Day. God sees her labor and her weariness. He is the one who ordained work as good, but also ordained rest for our bodies and souls, and He cares when that rest is taken away. The present life passes quickly and our first need is to keep our souls awake and healthy before Him, not to be weighed down and worn out by endless demands. We pray that she would know that her worth is not in what she produces, but in Christ who loves her and died for her.
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we lift up this daughter and sister to You. You know her long days and late nights, her stress and her hunger, and the distance she is from home. We ask You to have mercy on her. Grant her relief from this heavy workload, and give her wisdom as she speaks with her employers. Provide for her what is just and fair in her wages. Where there is exploitation or injustice, bring conviction and correction. Give her rest for her body, time for nourishing food, and a true Sabbath rest to worship You and be renewed.
Father, we ask for Your guidance for her future. If it is Your will, open the door to a new position in a better company with honest work, decent pay, and a healthy environment where she can use the gifts You have given her for Your glory. If she is to remain where she is, we ask You to change the environment for the better. Give her favor, strength, and peace in the midst of pressure.
We also lift up her parents, who carry worry in their hearts being far from her. Grant them Your peace that passes understanding, and help them to cast all their anxiety on You because You care for them.
And for the whole family, we pray for your spiritual life. Draw each of you closer to Christ. Help you to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, to feed daily on His Word, to pray with confidence through Jesus alone, and to rest in His grace. Keep you from growing cold or weary in faith, and make your home a place of prayer, thankfulness, and hope in the resurrection.
We ask all this trusting in the mercy of Jesus, who invites all who labor and are heavy laden to come to Him for rest. Amen.
Continue to encourage your sister to care for her health as a steward of the body God has given her, to seek wise counsel about her workplace rights, and to keep the Lord's Day for worship and rest whenever she is able. We will continue to remember you all in prayer.
