Prayer Against Witchcraft

May I please request for prayers for my father ... i think he is under a spell that makes him very susceptible to favoring an employee even though it seems that employee is consipiring against him. He is overlooking obvious facts and doesnt seem to be seeing reason. We heard (not sure if its true) that she does buy potions. I dont know if im loosing my mind but i just want to make sure

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your father and this troubling situation. The Bible is clear that witchcraft and sorcery are detestable to the Lord, and we must stand firmly against any spiritual darkness seeking to influence our lives. Scripture warns us in Deuteronomy 18:10-12, "There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh."

The enemy seeks to blind minds and distort truth, and it is not unreasonable to be concerned when someone appears to be under an unnatural influence. We rebuke any spirit of deception, confusion, or witchcraft operating in this situation in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. The name of Jesus is above every name, and at His name, every knee must bow, including those of dark spiritual forces. If your father has not placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, we pray that the Holy Spirit would draw him to repentance and salvation, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

Father God, we ask You to open our brother’s eyes to the truth. Break any chains of spiritual blindness or deception that may be upon him. Give him discernment to see this situation clearly, wisdom to make righteous decisions, and courage to act in accordance with Your will. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We plead the blood of Jesus over him, his mind, his business, and his household. Let no evil influence remain.

We also pray for this employee, if she is indeed involved in witchcraft, we ask that You would convict her heart and lead her to repentance. Your word says in Galatians 5:19-21 that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God, but we know that You desire all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). May she turn from darkness to light and find true freedom in Christ.

To you, dear sister or brother, we encourage you to stand firm in faith. Do not fear, for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Pray without ceasing, and trust that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). If possible, gather with other believers to pray and intercede for your father. The enemy seeks to isolate, but where two or three are gathered in Jesus’ name, He is there in the midst (Matthew 18:20).

We also urge you to examine your own heart and household. Are there any areas where you or your family may have opened doors to the enemy through curiosity about the occult, ungodly entertainment, or unrepentant sin? James 4:7 tells us to submit ourselves to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from us. Confess any known sin, renounce any involvement with darkness, and fill your home with worship, prayer, and the word of God.

Lord Jesus, we thank You that You have given us authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). We take that authority now and command every spirit of witchcraft, deception, and confusion to leave this situation. We declare that Your light will expose every hidden thing, and Your truth will set this family free. Strengthen them, Lord, and let Your peace guard their hearts and minds. May they walk in the victory that is already theirs through the cross. In the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We hear the worry in your words, it’s hard to watch a parent make decisions that just don’t add up, especially when you suspect someone may be working against him. When rumors of potions or spells enter the picture, it’s natural to feel unsettled and question your own perceptions. Please know: you are not losing your mind. Your concern for your father is real and right.

In times like these, we’ve learned that the healthiest kind of discernment doesn’t come from chasing every rumor or scanning for dark signs. It grows as we fix our eyes on Jesus, asking Him to shine His light on what’s hidden and to calm our anxious thoughts. When we rest in His authority, we begin to see things more clearly, not because we become experts in evil, but because we trust the One who already knows every hidden thing. So we encourage you to pray with steady confidence, not fear. Christ is Lord over all things, seen and unseen, and He cares for your father deeply.

A practical step might be to have a gentle, private conversation with your dad. Not with accusations or wild theories, but simply sharing what you’ve noticed: “Dad, I’ve seen some things at work that make me uneasy because I love you. Can we talk about it?” Sometimes a calm, loving word can cut through confusion better than we expect. You could also ask a mature believer or pastor from your church to pray with you and offer grounded, godly wisdom for your specific situation.

Let’s pray together now.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this father to You. You see every detail, his business, that employee, and any hidden agenda. Protect him from all harm, and give him a sharp, clear mind. If there is any deception at work, we ask You to expose it and break its influence. Replace fear with Your peace, and help this family speak truth in love and trust You with the outcome. My dear friend, I perceive in your words the heavy burden of a soul distressed, and truly it is no small thing to watch one you love walk in confusion and to fear a dark influence at work. Let me first entreat you to cast away the thought that you are losing your mind. This is a common arrow from the Evil One, a fiery dart designed to make you doubt and despair. Satan, that prince of darkness, often whispers such insinuations to the people of God: that their cause is hopeless, that their reason is failing, that the Lord has forsaken them. But we must muzzle that dog of unbelief, for its voice is a hound of hell, full of blasphemy against our faithful God. Do not let your tongue speak what your fears imagine; rather, let faith have a voice, and say boldly with the Psalmist, "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord."

We are not ignorant of the adversary’s devices. There may indeed be some spell or wicked potion at work, for Satan still seeks whom he may devour, and his influence upon the unrenewed mind is a darkness to be delivered from. Yet remember, our great inexhaustible Well is the Lord Jesus Christ. Our deliverance comes not by our own strength, but by His divine power. He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and though we must still fight, we are not slaves to sin or to the crafts of evil men. Go often to the well of His Word, for there you will find promises suitable to this very case, promises that are yea and amen in Christ Jesus. Drink from that living water, and your soul shall be refreshed and strengthened.

I counsel you, above all, to look not to the potions you have heard rumor of, nor to the reasonings of your own heart. Cease from man, and from the torment of suspicion. Instead, bring this whole matter before the Lord your God, who is a Father to the fatherless and a defender of the widow. Ask Him to break any spell, to scatter the darkness, and to restore your father’s clear sight. Thank Him even now that He does all things well, and that in His time He will bring forth His children with silver and gold, with no feeble ones among them. I will join my prayers with yours, that the Prince of Darkness be rebuked, and that the light of the glorious gospel shine into that household. Stand fast in faith, and let not unbelief rob God of His glory in your heart. He is able to deliver, even from the very brink of the pit.

The blindness you fear from a purchased potion is nothing compared to the blindness that can seize a soul from within. Your father is overlooking obvious facts and not seeing reason, and you say this is because of a spell. But consider well: is this not the very kind of blindness our Lord spoke of when He said, “seeing, they see not”? That blindness is not an affliction from outside; it is a willful darkness, a self-chosen veil that falls over the heart when it yields to partiality, to flattery, or to some unchecked passion. The devil needs no potion when he finds a door already open through disordered affection. Do not trouble yourself first with tales of witchcraft. Trouble yourself with the state of your father’s soul, and pray that his inward eyes be opened. The real enemy is not a conspiring employee; the real enemy is the sin that clouds reason and makes a man call evil good. Sin alone is the true evil. Blindness of the eyes is not an evil if it leads to the healing of the soul within, but blindness of the heart while the eyes see clearly, this brings heavy judgment.

You must not lose your mind to suspicion. You must give yourself to prayer with a fervent and toiling soul. Even if God defers the gift, even if the situation seems to grow more unreasonable, do not stop asking. The earnest cry of a righteous heart pierces the heavens. Plead before God for your father’s deliverance, not primarily from a spell, but from the fascination that has mastered his judgment. Restore all things in prayer, as one who makes right what covetousness or fear or misplaced favor has twisted. This is a conspiracy, not of potions, but of the heart’s own shadows, and such ambushes are far more dangerous because they are disguised. Your father does not see them, and so you must be the one who watches and who wrestles for him. Ask the Lord not merely to break a spell, but to manifest His glory in this trial. What seems now like harm may yet become the means of a deeper sight, if God in His mercy turns this blindness to the opening of his true eyes. So stand firm, and do not be shaken by rumors of potions. Stand firm in prayer, that your father may no longer say with his lips that he sees while his steps prove him blind, but that he may truly see, to the glory of God alone.
