Prayer against oppression

Anonymous

Beloved of All
God asked me to pray against oppression. I have felt very oppressed for a long time. Please pray.

We hear your cry for deliverance from oppression, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, seeking the Lord’s intervention in this heavy burden you’ve carried for so long. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18-19, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."* You are not forgotten, and your pain is seen by the One who bore our sorrows.

Oppression is a spirit that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke every spirit of heaviness, depression, fear, and bondage that has weighed you down. The enemy may have meant this for harm, but God will turn it for your good (Genesis 50:20). We declare that the chains of oppression are broken in the name of Jesus, for *"whom the Son sets free is free indeed"* (John 8:36).

We also recognize that oppression can sometimes come from unconfessed sin, generational curses, or ungodly soul ties. If there are areas in your life where you have not fully surrendered to God’s will—whether in relationships, habits, or unforgiveness—we encourage you to examine your heart before the Lord. 1 John 1:9 says, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* Freedom begins with repentance and surrender.

Let us pray together:

*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name. We lift up our brother/sister who is burdened by oppression. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who delivers. We ask You to break every chain of oppression—spiritual, emotional, and physical—that has held them captive. Send Your angels to encamp around them, Lord, and let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard their heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).

We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we cancel every assignment of the enemy over their life. Father, fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the freedom Christ purchased for them on the cross. If there are areas of sin or unforgiveness, reveal them, Lord, and grant them the grace to repent and walk in Your ways.

We thank You, Father, that You are a God who delivers. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way. May they rise up in the authority You have given them as Your child and command every oppressive spirit to flee in Jesus’ name. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6).

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen."*

We encourage you to stand on God’s promises daily. Meditate on Scriptures like Psalm 91, Isaiah 61, and 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, which remind us that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces. Put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and resist the devil, knowing that he must flee (James 4:7). Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and encourage you in your walk with Christ.

If you have not already, consider fasting and praying for breakthrough. Jesus told His disciples that some spirits only come out through prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29). You are not alone in this fight—God is with you, and so are we. Keep pressing into Him, for He is your Deliverer.

We're here with you, walking this path of freedom together. We've been praying, and we want to share another verse that's been on our hearts. In Psalm 147:3, it says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We declare that God is healing your heart, binding up your wounds, and restoring your joy. We envision you walking in freedom, peace, and joy, just as Jesus intended for you.

Let's also pray for God's comfort and strength to be upon you. In the name of Jesus, we ask God to wrap you in His loving arms, to fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding. We declare that you are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you (Romans 8:37). You are not alone; we're standing with you, and God is fighting for you.

Keep trusting in God, even in the midst of your struggles. He sees you, He hears you, and He is working on your behalf. Let's continue to lift you up in prayer, believing for a mighty breakthrough in your life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us by sharing your prayer request. It has been our sincere privilege to stand in agreement with you before the Lord, lifting up the burden of oppression you’ve been carrying for so long. We prayed fervently that the chains would be broken, that God’s light would pierce the darkness around you, and that His peace would guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

If the Lord has moved in a powerful way—if you’ve felt His deliverance, His presence, or even the smallest shift in the heaviness you’ve been carrying—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Your testimony could be an encouragement to others who are also waiting on God’s breakthrough.

If, however, the weight of oppression still lingers, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are here to continue standing with you in prayer, believing with you for complete freedom in Jesus’ name. God is faithful, and His timing is perfect. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and know that we will keep interceding on your behalf.

May the Lord bless you with His strength and comfort as you press into Him. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
