Pray

We join you in lifting up your loved one who is in the hospital before our Heavenly Father and we stand with you in prayer together in Jesus name.

We may not know all the details of the illness or situation, but God knows and He sees and He cares deeply for this dear one and for you who are concerned. We take comfort that the Lord is our healer and our refuge in times of trouble. Scripture reminds us that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3 and again we are told But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh in Jeremiah 30:17. We also cling to the promise in Isaiah 41:10, Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And we remember that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble in Psalm 46:1.

We notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus Himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6. And Scripture tells us There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. So we come to God boldly only in the name of Jesus, trusting in His sacrifice for our sins and His resurrection, and we encourage you to put your full trust in Him for salvation and for daily help, as it is written if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved in Romans 10:9.

Together we pray. Father in heaven, we lift up this precious one who is in the hospital to You in the mighty name of Jesus. We ask for Your healing hand to rest upon this dear one, for Your mercy and grace to bring restoration to the body according to Your will. We pray that You would guide the hands and minds of the doctors and nurses and all who provide care, giving them wisdom and skill. We ask for Your peace to guard this dear one and the family and friends who are waiting and worrying, as You have promised in Philippians 4:6-7 that Your peace which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. We pray for comfort, for strength, for freedom from fear, and for faith to trust You in this difficult time. We pray for complete healing if it is Your will, and above all we pray that Your name would be glorified and that this dear one would feel Your presence very near. We also pray that all involved would know the hope and salvation that is found only in Jesus Christ. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray without ceasing, to stay by this loved one as you are able, to speak scripture and words of comfort, and to trust the Lord with the outcome. The prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up in James 5:15, and we rest in that promise while submitting to the perfect will of our loving Father. Keep seeking Him and keep trusting Him to work all things for good.

Thank you for sharing this burden with us. Hearing someone you love is in the hospital can leave you feeling helpless and stretched thin, and we want you to know you are not carrying this alone.

One thing we have seen help in hospital seasons is the simple power of presence. Just being there, even quietly, and letting the medical team know you are a steady advocate matters. If you can, keep a small notebook for questions and updates from nurses and doctors, it helps when information comes quickly and you are tired. And allow others to come alongside you too, whether family, friends, or your church family, to sit with you, bring a meal, or pray with you in person. You do not have to hold everything yourself.

We are also praying for rest for you as you wait and watch. Stepping out for a short walk, getting water and getting sleep when you can helps you keep going for the days ahead.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift ### to You. We ask for Your nearness to be felt in that hospital room, for wisdom and care for the doctors and nurses, and for comfort and strength for ### and for those who love them. Give peace in the waiting and guide each next decision according to Your will. Amen.

We have heard your request and we carry it with tender sympathy to the mercy seat. The Lord has said, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God, and He has charged His people to comfort one another, and so we would speak comfortably to you in this trial. When one dear to you lies in the hospital, the heart is desponding and the spirit is cast down, but we have a peculiar comfort for affliction, for His Word quickens us. This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy Word hath quickened me. May the Spirit of God press that Word to your bosom now and make it near and present help.

We remember also that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and that the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, and His leaves do not wither, but give freshness and health to those who look to Him. We pray that Christ Himself, our Lord and our Father's own Son, would comfort the heart of the sufferer and comfort your heart also, and establish you in every good word and work, for comfort alone is not enough without constancy, and constancy needs comfort to sustain it.

Let us pray together. O Thou Sun of Righteousness with healing in His wings, look in mercy upon this afflicted one now in the hospital. Lay Thy hand upon the body, ease pain, guide the hands of those who tend the sick, and if it be Thy will restore to health and strength. Above all, speak pardon and peace to the soul, for healing and forgiveness are joined together in Thee. Let this affliction be not without profit, but quicken faith and draw the heart nearer to Thyself, that whether in life or in death, Christ may be magnified. Comfort the waiting family, keep them from doubting, remind them that Thou art Master both of winds and of fevers, and that even now Thou sittest upon the throne to do all things well. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only hope and Saviour. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have received your request and we join you in bringing this loved one before the Lord in prayer.

We pray to our merciful Father in the name of Jesus Christ, who alone is our salvation and our hope, that He would lay His healing hand upon the one who is in the hospital. We ask that He would grant wisdom and skill to the physicians and all who provide care, that He would ease pain and fear, and that He would grant strength and peace to family and friends who are keeping watch.

We also pray that in this time of weakness the greatness of God's power and compassion would be made known, and that whether through healing in this life or through His perfect will, this dear one and all who love him would be drawn closer to Christ and find comfort in His presence. May this trial be borne with patience and thankfulness, trusting that God is able to work all things for good for those who love Him and that He hears every prayer offered in faith.

Be assured that your request is being remembered before the Lord, and may you know His peace and sustaining grace in these days.

Thank you for sharing this burden and giving us the privilege to pray with you. We are joining our faith with yours for the one you love who is in the hospital, asking the Lord to be near and to work according to His perfect will.

Prayer rests on relationship. Jesus gave His disciples a model for prayer that begins with knowing God as Father. When we have come to God through Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins, we have that relationship, and we can come boldly to Him. If anyone has not yet come that way, the first prayer God delights to hear is simply, God be merciful to me, a sinner, and that prayer opens the door to every other prayer.

When we pray for healing we are coming to the Lord who reveals Himself as our healer, the One who becomes what we need in the moment of need. Scripture shows us that praying for the sick was a normal part of the life of Jesus and the early church, and God still hears those prayers today. At the same time we remember that prayer is not a way to make God do what we want. Its true purpose is to see God's will done on earth. Prayer often moves in a circle. God places His desires and purposes on our hearts, we return them to Him in prayer, and He then accomplishes what He has purposed.

That is why we are encouraged to continue in prayer with thanksgiving. Persistence is not to change God's mind, but to open the door for Him to do what He already longs to do, without violating the will He has given us. You do not need a long or eloquent prayer. The prayers recorded in Scripture are often very short. What matters is a sincere, fervent prayer from the heart, often born out of deep need. Scripture says the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much, and Jesus said that when two or three agree on earth concerning anything, it will be done.

So we are agreeing with you now, and we encourage you to keep bringing this need before the Lord, worshiping Him for who He is, trusting His wisdom even as we ask for healing. We know from Scripture that sometimes God answers with healing, and sometimes, as with Paul who prayed three times and heard the answer, My grace is sufficient for you and My strength is made perfect in weakness, God answers with sustaining grace. In either case He shows Himself as the God of all comfort, who stands by His people in dark hours, in hospital rooms, in long nights of waiting, to strengthen and encourage and give peace.

Let us pray together. Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ and thank You that we can call You Father. We lift up this dear one in the hospital to You. You see the body, You know every detail of the illness, and You love this person more than we do. We ask that You would reveal Yourself as healer and comforter. Lay Your hand upon this life, bring healing according to Your will, give wisdom to the doctors and nurses, and give peace to the family and to all who are waiting and worried. Above all, let Your will be done, and let Your name be glorified. Comfort every heart with Your presence, and grant hope and patience as we trust You. We ask this in the name of Jesus, to whom belongs the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

We will continue to remember this need before the Lord. May He comfort you as you wait on Him, and may you sense His nearness and His love in these difficult days.
