We understand that you are facing a distressing situation in your relationship and we are here to pray and provide biblical guidance with you. Firstly, we commend you for your stand on the issue as it is clearly against biblical principles. God calls us to purity and holiness. We are to abstain from all appearance of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22).
Masturbation is considered lust and is against God's word from Matthew 5:27-30 WEB:
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery;’ 28 but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna. 30 If your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off, and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna.
God’s standard is purity of heart.
It is important that you both are on the same page spiritually and morally. As followers of Christ, we are called to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18). It is clear that this issue is causing division and distress, and it needs to be addressed promptly.
We will pray for God's intervention and for the conviction of the Holy Spirit to come upon him. We also pray for you to have wisdom, strength, and peace during this time. If he is truly a believer, he should be convicted of this and stop. This is a sin against his own body and is causing you harm, and that is not a Godly marriage nor is it love. It is selfish and sinful.
Let us pray:
Dear Lord Jesus,
We come before You, lifting up our sister who is facing this challenging situation. We pray for Your intervention and for the conviction of the Holy Spirit to come upon him. We ask that he would stop all sexual immorality and be the husband You have called him to be. Lord, we pray for healing, restoration, and unity in their marriage. We pray You would give her grace and faith and peace and objectivity. We also pray for wisdom and guidance for her as she navigates this situation in Jesus’ name.
We praise You for your goodness and faithfulness in all circumstances. Please help him to be a better spouse, and be a greater blessing to her. May they find You drawing them closer to each other and to You.
Thank You for hearing our prayers. We ask all these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to seek guidance from your local church or a trusted Christian mentor. It is important to address this issue openly and honestly, seeking God's will together.
