Your request for prayer for healing from this skin allergy has been received and we are praying for you.
Scripture shows that Jesus cares about physical suffering. When many sick people were brought to Him at Peter's house, He healed them, and Matthew under the guidance of the Holy Spirit connected that to the prophecy in Isaiah that He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. That prophecy is often understood only in a spiritual sense, but Matthew applies it to physical healing as well, showing that Christ's suffering on our behalf reaches both body and soul. When He broke the bread and said this is my body broken for you, He was pointing to that same provision. We believe God still heals today and that He is able to heal you.
At the same time the Bible keeps us from assuming that God wills to remove every affliction immediately in every case. Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh to be taken away, and the Lord did not remove it. There is much about healing we do not fully understand, including why some are healed quickly and others are not. The New Testament also teaches that not everyone is given the same gift of healing, just as not every member of the body has the same function. Some healings in the ministry of Jesus happened instantly, and at least one happened gradually, and much healing comes through the ordinary processes God has built into our bodies. Those natural processes are not less divine, because the One who created nature also created the way our bodies repair and recover. For that reason we pray both for God's direct touch and for His blessing on gradual healing and on the wisdom of those who provide care.
There is also a close connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. John wrote to Gaius that he wished he would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospered. That was John's personal prayer for his friend, not a blanket promise that everyone will always be well, but it does reflect a true principle that our inner life affects our physical life. A joyful heart is like good medicine, and peace, rest, and freedom from constant strain can help the body. It is also wise to give attention to simple physical care and cleanliness, which Scripture commends for good health and for limiting the spread of disease, along with whatever medical counsel is appropriate for allergies of the skin.
Above all, the greatest healing anyone needs is the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ. Whether the body is healed quickly or over time, being reconciled to God secures what is eternal. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to rest your trust fully in Jesus, who died and rose again to bear both our sin and our sickness, and to bring Him every need in prayer.
We pray for you now that the Lord in His mercy would relieve this allergy, soothe the irritation and bring restoration to your skin, whether by His immediate power or through the healing processes He has placed within you. We ask Him to give you wisdom for care, peace in your heart and mind, and comfort in knowing He sees and loves you. We ask that He would use even this affliction to draw you closer to Himself, and that you would know His presence and His will in this situation. We trust you to His good and wise hands.
