Thank you for sharing your heart so openly and for bringing your mother, your family and your home before the Lord. Your love and honor for your mother is precious to God, for He commands us to honor father and mother, and part of that honor is to care for them and to lift them faithfully in prayer, especially when they are weak or aging.
I join you in praying for your mother and her liver condition, for your financial needs, for guidance and for peace in your home. The first comfort we have is that we can come directly to God through Jesus Christ. Scripture teaches that God has made one provision for the forgiveness of our sins and for our access to Him, and that provision is the blood of His only Son. There is no other mediator we need. When Jesus was told that His mother and brothers were outside seeking Him, He asked, Who is my mother and who are my brothers, and then pointed to His disciples and said that whoever does the will of God is His brother and sister and mother. We are His family through faith in Him, and because He has opened the way, we are invited to come boldly to the throne of grace to make our requests known. We do not need to seek another intercessor. We come straight to Jesus, and the Holy Spirit bears witness that we are heard in Him.
In that confidence we bring your mother before Him. Jesus showed His power and compassion when He healed the leper who was considered incurable, when He healed the centurion's servant with a word, when He took Peter's mother in law by the hand and her fever left her, and when multitudes came to Him in the evening with sicknesses and He healed them. He did not heal in only one way. Sometimes He touched, sometimes He spoke, sometimes He did what no one expected. He still is able to heal today, and we should always give Him room to work as He wills. We pray for your mother with faith, asking God for healing of her liver, for restored health and for length of days according to His mercy, while also trusting His wisdom and love. Not everyone is healed in the way or time we hope, and when healing does not come at once it is not right to say it is because of a lack of faith or hidden sin. We live in a world where sickness is real, and we simply continue to come to Jesus, like the desperate mother who would not go away until she received His help for her daughter, and we leave the answer in His hands.
We also bring your financial burden before Him. You have shared that you need a set amount each month to meet obligations and have no steady work or support. God knows what you need before you ask. He is our provider, and we ask Him to open doors for honest work, to give wisdom in stewardship, and to bring stability so that you can meet what you owe and live with peace. We pray that He will guide you and your mother in every moment by His Holy Spirit, leading you according to His will and keeping your steps steady after the loss of your father. The Lord sees that loss and He is able to strengthen you and your family, to keep you safe and to establish your future in His care.
For your home and your nights, we ask the Lord for His holy protection over your hearts and minds, over every room and every part of your dwelling. We ask Him for restful and peaceful sleep, for joy and thankfulness at your meals and in your daily activities, and for His peace to replace past trauma, frustration and distress. May He quiet what troubles you and fill your home with calm, and may He help you to prosper in walking with Him, growing together as those who do His will and belong to His family.
Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, whose blood alone has made a way for us, we come boldly to Your throne. We lift this dear mother to You. Touch her body, heal her liver, renew her strength and grant her good health and long life if it be Your will. We lift this family in their financial need. You know the amount they must pay and the lack of income. Provide for them, open work and help, and make them financially stable by Your hand. Lead this daughter and her mother by Your Holy Spirit, guide them each moment according to Your will, strengthen them after their loss, keep them safe, and give them a good future in Your arms. Cover this home with Your protection, grant peaceful nights and joyful days, and take away lingering trauma and unrest, replacing it with Your peace. We ask all this in the miraculous name of Jesus Christ, trusting Your love and Your answer. Amen.
