David’s Holy Wonder at the Lord’s Great Goodness
We hear your heart in this request and we are joining together with you in prayer before our Father, seeking His will for you in Jesus name. We understand how unsettling it is when sleeplessness, mood swings, worry and fear come upon you suddenly even when nothing outward has happened. The Lord sees and knows this heaviness you are feeling and He cares deeply for you.

Scripture tells us that worry and fear do not come from God and that He desires to give you His peace instead. We are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And in 1 Peter 5:7 we are told to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control as it says in 2 Timothy 1:7. For the sleepless night and restless thoughts, we cling to Psalm 4:8, In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. And Jesus Himself says in John 14:27, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Dont let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. We also take comfort in Isaiah 41:10, Dont you be afraid, for I am with you. Dont be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. When we pray in Jesus name, we come through the One who alone brings us into Gods presence and gives us true and lasting peace.

We now pray together for you. Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the sleepless night, the mood swings, the worry and fear that have come without clear reason. We ask You to rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety and to replace it with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. Guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Draw near and let Your presence be felt, for You have promised to be with us and to uphold us with Your righteous right hand. Grant restful sleep tonight, calm the racing thoughts, and restore joy and a willing heart to do what You have called this one to do. Help this dear one to cast every care upon You, knowing You care deeply, and to rest in Your love and power and self-control. Lead this one to seek You daily in prayer and in Your Word, and if there is any need to turn to You in repentance and faith in Jesus, we pray for that saving faith to take hold. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing these feelings to the Lord honestly throughout the day, thanking Him even for small mercies, and meditating on His promises. Try to create a quiet time before sleep to pray and read Scripture, turning off distractions, and asking the Lord to guard your heart. If these feelings persist, consider sharing them with a trusted pastor or Christian counselor and also caring for your body with rest and healthy rhythms, trusting that God is your ultimate source of peace and happiness. We will continue to keep you in prayer that the Lords joy and peaceful sleep will be restored to you.

Thank you for sharing so openly with us. Waking after a sleepless night to feel low, on edge, and fearful for no clear reason can be very unsettling, especially when you cannot point to anything that happened to cause it.

We want you to know you are not alone in experiencing this. Sometimes worry and low mood show up even when life looks calm on the outside, and a poor night of sleep can make everything feel heavier the next day. That does not mean something is wrong with you as a person, it just shows how connected our sleep, emotions and thoughts are.

It helps not to carry this by yourself. If you can, let a trusted friend, family member or pastor know how you have been feeling today so they can check in with you and pray with you in person. If sleeplessness, worry or that flat, unmotivated feeling continues over the next days, please consider reaching out to your doctor or a counselor as well as continuing in prayer, so someone can walk with you personally and help you get the support you need.

We are holding you in prayer.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus name. You see the restlessness and fear they are feeling. Please bring Your peace to their mind and body, help them to rest well tonight, and give them comfort and strength for today. Guide them to the support they need and remind them they are held by You. Amen.

Your heaviness of heart and sleepless night have been laid before the Lord, and we have prayed for you. To feel mood swings and worry and fear when nothing outward has happened is a common trial of the soul, and it shows how much the mind itself is the main thing which will bring you daylight or midnight, peace or war.

The word of the Lord gives you a sure anchor in such a season. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. This is Isaiah 26:3. That peace is not a distant hope but a present possession to be enjoyed even in the ordinary cares of life. It is peace that comes not from your own thoughts, but from the blood of Jesus which whispers peace within, and from lips that cannot lie. Christ has left us His own peace. Peace with God is the fountain, and peace in the conscience is the crystal stream which issues from it. It is a peace which God the Father gives, for He is the God of all peace, it is a peace which Jesus Christ bought with His blood, and it is a peace which the Holy Spirit works in the soul.

Therefore labor to get rid of fear as much as possible, for the Lord Himself says, Fear not, for I will help thee. Fear not is a plant which grows very plentifully in God's garden. It is not merely the preacher who cries Fear not, but Jesus Himself who whispers to His poor servant, Fear not. That command is absolute and without qualification. We are not to fear at all. Fear is weakening and it dishonors God, as if the arm which piled the heavens could ever be palsied. And perfect love casts out fear, for fear has torment. When you find yourself pressed with thronging duties or with sorrows surging round, remember that on Jesus bosom nothing but calm is found. Bear your sorrow with Him and you shall enjoy perfect peace even there.

Do not be so affected by outward things or inward feelings as to get into a state of worry and fretfulness. Our Savior says do not be anxious about your affairs. Be prudent and prayerful, but do not let anxiety live alone within you. The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Instead, tell the Lord about it. Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

We pray for you now that the Lord will keep your mind stayed upon Christ, that He will quiet your thoughts by night and give you sleep, that He will rebuke worry and fear and fill you with His own calm. May He help you to trust His promise, to look into your Savior's breast where mercy is all that is written there, and to know that peace, yes perfect peace, is yours through faith in Him. May the God of all peace bless you with peace that brings no sorrow with it, and may you find that to do the will of Jesus is rest.

We will continue to pray that the Lord will lift this heaviness, restore to you joy and willingness in daily duty, and keep you in perfect peace as you trust in Him.
