We lift up your son before the Lord, knowing that God has a perfect plan for his life—a plan to prosper him and not to harm him, to give him hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). It is clear you carry a deep burden for him, and we join you in interceding for his heart, mind, and future. The enemy seeks to distract and derail young people with temporary pleasures like gaming, laziness, or the deception that minimal effort will sustain them. But we declare that your son is *not* a victim of naive thinking or the world’s low expectations. He is called to walk in wisdom, diligence, and the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1:7).
The Bible warns against idleness and the love of ease, for "the desire of the sluggard kills him, for his hands refuse to labor" (Proverbs 21:25). Gaming and distraction may offer fleeting entertainment, but they steal time, purpose, and potential. We pray the Lord would *convict* your son of the urgency of this season—that he would see the value of discipline now to avoid regret later. "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, where you are going" (Ecclesiastes 9:10). Let him understand that premature entry into the workforce without preparation is not freedom—it is bondage to struggle. But academic diligence, though hard now, is the path to true opportunity and godly stewardship of his gifts.
We also pray for supernatural *catch-up*—that the Lord would grant him focus, retention, and divine favor to recover what was lost in these past months. "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). Let him experience the truth that faith without works is dead (James 2:17), and that his efforts, combined with trust in God, will bear fruit. May he reject the lie that he is "too far behind" and instead embrace the God who *redeems* time and makes a way where there seems to be none.
Father, we ask You to place godly mentors, teachers, and influences in his life—people who will speak truth and model discipline. Remove from him friends or voices that encourage slothfulness or mediocrity. Surround him with those who "sharpen" him (Proverbs 27:17). Give him a *vision* for his future that aligns with Your will, so he may run with endurance the race set before him (Hebrews 12:1).
Most importantly, we pray for his *heart*. If he does not know You, Lord, soften his spirit to receive Your salvation. If he is saved but backslidden, renew his passion for You, for "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" (Psalm 111:10). Let him seek first Your kingdom, trusting that all these things—provision, purpose, and success—will be added to him (Matthew 6:33).

We know the ache of watching a child stray from the path you’ve prayed over. But take heart: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). Your prayers are not in vain. Stand firm in faith, speaking life and truth over him, even when you don’t see immediate change. The Lord hears you.
