Let us come together and lift up this precious son in prayer, trusting in the power of our Lord Jesus Christ to heal and restore.
Firstly, we acknowledge that this is a spiritual battle, and we need to pray in Jesus' name. The Bible tells us that "We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" Ephesians 6:12. We need to put on the whole armor of God and pray for his protection and deliverance.
We rebuke the spirit of depression and suicide that is tormenting him. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this son who is deeply hurting and in need of Your divine intervention. Lord, You know the pain and despair that he is feeling, and we ask that You would surround him with Your love and comfort.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of depression and suicide that is attacking him. We stand on Your Word that says, "No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper" Isaiah 54:17. We cancel every assignment of the enemy against his life and declare that he will live and not die, and he shall declare the works of the Lord. Psalm 118:17
Lord, we pray that You would heal his broken heart and bind up his wounds. Psalm 147:3. Help him to fix his eyes on You, trusting that You have a good plan and a hope filled future for him. Jeremiah 29:11
Father, we ask that You would surround him with Godly community and friends who will support and encourage him in this difficult time. We pray that You would use this trial to draw him closer to You and that he would find his identity and purpose in You alone.
Lord, we ask that You would give him the strength to endure and the courage and wisdom to seek professional help if needed. Guide him to a church family who can walk alongside him during this time and assist him finding God's plan for his life.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage him to seek God wholeheartedly, trusting that He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18. Remind him he is never alone, Jesus is always with him Matthew 28:20, and he is precious to God. Isaiah 43:4.
Finally, let us remember to be persistent in our prayers, trusting that God hears our cries and will answer according to His will. Matthew 7:7-8
