We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, grieving over the repeal of laws that once upheld biblical morality in the land. The decision to allow what Scripture clearly calls sin, homosexuality, is a direct affront to God’s design for human sexuality and His holy standards. The Word of God is unchanging, and we must stand firmly on its truth, even when the world rejects it.
The Bible declares in Leviticus 18:22, "You shall not lie with a man as with a woman. That is detestable." Romans 1:26-27 warns, "For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error." These are not outdated commands but God’s perfect and eternal will for His creation.
We rebuke the spirit of compromise that has infiltrated governments and institutions, bending to the pressures of foreign agendas rather than standing for righteousness. The enemy seeks to normalize what God calls sin, and we must not be silent. We pray for conviction to fall upon leaders, lawmakers, and citizens alike, that they would turn from this path of rebellion and seek the Lord’s ways.
We also lift up those who may be struggling with these temptations. The church must extend love and truth, calling all to repentance while offering hope in Christ. For those trapped in sin, we declare that freedom is found in Jesus alone. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 reminds us, "Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom. Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God."
Father, we pray for revival in our nations. Let Your Spirit move powerfully to turn hearts back to You. We ask for wisdom for believers to stand firm in faith, to speak the truth in love, and to be salt and light in a darkening world. We declare that Your Word will not return void, and we trust in Your justice and mercy. Raise up godly leaders who will uphold righteousness and protect the sanctity of marriage as You designed it, between one man and one woman for life.
We pray for those who have been deceived by the lies of the enemy, that their eyes would be opened to the truth of Your Word. May they find forgiveness, healing, and restoration in Jesus Christ. We stand against the schemes of the devil and declare that Your kingdom will prevail. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
