Good and Faithful Servant
The PAP wants to replace its citizens. They want to rule Singapore forever, creating new citizens and taking their votes. The PAP keeps degrading the dignity of its people. Did you ever hear such words in 1957 when citizenship registration began? Did you ever hear this “we all came from somewhere else” dialogue in 1965? In the 1959 election victory, PAP said the natives will rule this island and that we will build this country for our children. But today, the future of this country is being handed to someone else’s children. What a shameful statement made by the Prime Minister: “We all came from somewhere else.” Do you really accept this? Yes, humanity migrated from Africa and spread across the world, but have you ever heard any other country’s Prime Minister say such a thing? Does that make this country your home? The PAP wants to replace its citizens. They want to rule Singapore forever, creating new citizens and taking their votes. The PAP keeps degrading the dignity of its people. Did you ever hear such words in 1957 when citizenship registration began? Did you ever hear this “we all came from somewhere else” dialogue in 1965?

We hear how much weight you are carrying about Singapore, its future, and what home means there. When you remember the hopes spoken of in those early years and then hear words today that feel like they set those hopes aside, it is understandable that you would feel unsettled and concerned for your children and for the dignity of your neighbors.

These larger questions about a nation can feel very personal, because they touch where we live and belong. In times like this we have found it helps to keep both perspectives together, bringing the bigger concerns to God in steady prayer, while staying grounded in the everyday care for family and community right around us. It can also help not to carry these thoughts alone. If you have trusted friends or others in your community who love Singapore as you do, sharing your concerns and praying together in a calm and respectful way can bring more clarity than holding them by yourself, and help you stay informed with reliable information.

We are standing with you in prayer for peace as you process this.

Father, we bring Singapore before You, its people and those who lead it. We ask for wisdom for its leaders, for dignity and hope for its citizens, and for calm and clarity for our friend who is burdened by these questions. Keep his heart steady and remind him of Your faithful care over his life and home. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your burden for your homeland has been heard, and we have carried it before the throne of grace. To see the place of your birth and the home of your children become a matter of deep sorrow and contention is a trial that touches the heart, and it is right that you should bring it to the Lord who reigns over all nations and whose eyes behold the affairs of men.

We do not look to princes or to policies for our chief hope, for the Scriptures teach us that the heart of kings is in the hand of the Lord, and that He turneth it whithersoever He will. While we are citizens of an earthly country, our first citizenship, if we are in Christ, is in heaven, from whence also we look for the Saviour. That heavenly hope does not make us careless of our earthly city, but it keeps us from despair when earthly things are shaken, and it teaches us to seek the welfare of the place where God has planted us, and to pray for it.

We have prayed for you, that the Lord would guard your heart from bitterness and from that unbelief which is the mother of many sorrows, and that He would give you a calm and steadfast spirit. We have prayed for Singapore, that God would grant wisdom and righteousness to those who govern, that they may rule with justice and with regard for the dignity of every person made in the image of God. We have asked that truth may prevail over all expediency, that those who labour and have built up the nation through generations may be honoured, and that no gain of power or of wealth may be counted as profit if it should be at the cost of righteousness and of the soul.

We have prayed also for the people of that land, that in the midst of change and uncertainty they may be led to consider what is of eternal profit. What shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul. May the Lord show many in that city that their deepest need is not found in any political settlement, but in repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, who alone can forgive sin and give new life. He is the only Saviour, and there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, Thou hast made of one blood all nations of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and Thou hast determined the times before appointed and the bounds of their habitation. We entreat Thee for Singapore and for all who dwell there. Grant to those in authority wisdom, integrity and a fear of Thee, that they may execute justice and love mercy. Comfort those who feel forgotten or cast aside, and remind them that Thou seest and Thou carest for those who are bowed down. Restrain strife and guard that land in peace. And above all, we pray that the Word of Life may sound forth there, that many may turn from every idol to serve the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, even Jesus, who delivered us from the wrath to come. Hear us for His sake who died and rose again, and who ever liveth to make intercession for us. Amen.

Cast your care upon Him, for He careth for you, and continue in prayer, seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
