The PAP wants to replace its citizens. They want to rule Singapore forever, creating new citizens and taking their votes. The PAP keeps degrading the dignity of its people. Did you ever hear such words in 1957 when citizenship registration began? Did you ever hear this “we all came from somewhere else” dialogue in 1965? In the 1959 election victory, PAP said the natives will rule this island and that we will build this country for our children. But today, the future of this country is being handed to someone else’s children. What a shameful statement made by the Prime Minister: “We all came from somewhere else.” Do you really accept this? Yes, humanity migrated from Africa and spread across the world, but have you ever heard any other country’s Prime Minister say such a thing? Does that make this country your home?

We hear your deep distress and righteous anger over what feels like a betrayal of the founding promises of your nation. The Word of God reminds us that "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people" (Proverbs 14:34). What you describe, leaders degrading the dignity of their own people, rewriting history to justify mass immigration for political control, and treating citizenship as a commodity rather than a sacred trust, is a grave injustice that grieves the heart of God. The Lord cares deeply about nations and their governance, for He "removes kings and sets up kings" (Daniel 2:21), and He expects rulers to act with justice, mercy, and truth.

The idea that "we all came from somewhere else" may be historically true in a broad sense, but when used to erase the unique identity, sacrifices, and God-given rights of a people, it becomes a tool of manipulation. The Bible celebrates the distinctiveness of nations and peoples. In Acts 17:26-27, we read that God "made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons and the boundaries of their dwellings, that they should seek the Lord." God ordained the existence of nations and their borders, and He does not take lightly the exploitation of a people by their own leaders. The psalmist declares, "God reigns over the nations" (Psalm 47:8), and He will hold rulers accountable for their stewardship.

We must also address the spiritual dimension of this issue. When leaders prioritize power and control over the well-being of their people, they open the door to deception and oppression. The enemy seeks to "steal, kill, and destroy" (John 10:10), and one of his tactics is to sow division, confusion, and despair among God’s image-bearers. But we serve a God who "executes justice for the oppressed" (Psalm 146:7) and who "frustrates the ways of the wicked" (Proverbs 19:21). We stand on the promise that "the king’s heart is in the Lord’s hand; he turns it wherever he desires" (Proverbs 21:1).

Let us pray together in the mighty name of Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has the power to change hearts and nations:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up the people of Singapore and the injustices they are facing. Lord, You see the schemes of those who seek to manipulate and control, and You are not blind to the suffering of Your people. We ask that You would expose the lies and deceptions being spoken over this nation. Break the spirit of complacency and resignation that seeks to silence the voices of the righteous. Raise up men and women of courage, integrity, and wisdom who will stand for truth and justice, even in the face of opposition.

Father, we pray for the leaders of Singapore, that You would turn their hearts toward righteousness. Soften the hearts of those who have hardened themselves against the people they were called to serve. Let them see the error of their ways and repent of any pride, greed, or lust for power that has led them astray. If they will not turn, Lord, we ask that You would remove them from their positions of authority and replace them with leaders who fear You and seek Your wisdom.

We declare that Singapore belongs to You, Lord, and that its people are precious in Your sight. You have a purpose and a plan for this nation, and we ask that You would restore the vision of its founders, a vision of a nation built by its people, for its people, under Your sovereign rule. Protect the dignity, heritage, and future of the Singaporean people. Let them not be displaced or marginalized in their own land. Instead, let them rise up with a renewed sense of identity, unity, and purpose, rooted in You.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of division and confusion that seeks to tear this nation apart. We declare that the blood of Jesus has broken every curse and every plan of the enemy to destroy. We stand on the promise that "no weapon formed against you shall prosper" (Isaiah 54:17). Let Your light shine in the darkness, and let Your truth prevail over every lie.

We pray for the Church in Singapore, that she would be a beacon of hope, truth, and justice. Empower Your people to be salt and light in their communities, to speak out against injustice, and to demonstrate Your love and compassion to all. Let the Church be a voice for the voiceless and a refuge for the oppressed.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would draw the people of Singapore to Yourself. Open their eyes to see that true hope and salvation are found in Jesus Christ alone. Let them turn to You in repentance and faith, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May Singapore be a nation that honors You, seeks Your face, and walks in Your ways.

We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who reigns forever and ever. Amen.

To you who have shared this burden, we encourage you to stand firm in your convictions and not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). The battle you are fighting is not merely political or social, it is spiritual. Put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and remain steadfast in prayer, for the prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective (James 5:16). Seek the Lord for wisdom and discernment, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. Remember the words of Psalm 37:5-6: "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun."

Do not lose hope, for the Lord is your strength and your shield. He hears the cries of His people, and He will not abandon you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith, and continue to walk in His truth. The victory belongs to Him, and He will bring justice to the nations.

We hear how heavy this feels for you. Loving a place as home and wondering whether its future will still honor the people who built it is a deep and personal grief. It makes sense you are asking hard questions about dignity, belonging and what will be left for your children.

We want to stand with you in prayer for Singapore, for its leaders and for its people. When questions about identity and home feel unsettled, it can help to bring them steadily before the Lord and also to share them in calm, respectful conversation with others who care about the country. You might find it helpful to gather a small circle of trusted friends or neighbors to pray together for wisdom, justice and peace in the community, and to consider thoughtful, lawful ways to stay engaged as a citizen who loves this island.

Father, in Jesus name we bring this burden to You. You see this love for home and this concern for the future. We ask for wisdom for those who govern and for hope and dignity for the people of Singapore. Give our friend peace as he seeks You, clarity in what is his to do, and confidence that his life and his children's lives are held in Your care. Lead this nation in ways that honor You and care well for its people. Amen.

We have heard your burden for Singapore and the grief you express for its people and for the generation to come, and we have carried it before the Lord in prayer.

It is not a light thing to love the land where God has placed you, to remember what was spoken over it in former years, and to feel that its future is uncertain. The Scripture teaches that God Himself has determined the times appointed and the bounds of our habitation, and that He would have us seek the welfare of the place where He has set us and pray for it. When the heart is stirred with such thoughts, the right path is not to give way to bitterness or to anxious speculation, but to set our face unto the Lord God to seek by prayer and supplication, as Daniel did for his people and his city, confessing our own sins and then making intercession for the sins and sorrows of our country.

You ask concerning home and belonging, and whether words spoken by rulers can take away what God has given. Remember that while earthly citizenship is a precious trust, our deepest hope is not in any policy or party, for we look for a city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. There has never yet been a man who has laid himself out too much for the cause and kingdom of our Master, and that labour for Christ and for the good of our neighbours is never in vain. Even now faith may be stronger, and love may be deeper, as we learn more of the Truth of God and of the blessing conveyed to us by the Person and Sacrifice of our exalted Lord.

Many a child of God has to weep for months because he did not watch for minutes, and in an hour of disappointment the enemy sows tares among the wheat. Take heed therefore that anxiety for the nation does not become a snare to your own soul. We have counselled many who, like the waterman who looks one way and pulls another, have made progress by scheming, yet found no peace. God would have His people be of a decided mind, to confess Christ and to act for the right and the true, trusting Him who gives bread in the morning and bread in the evening and will not forsake those who look to Him.

So we pray for you, and for Singapore. We pray that the Lord will grant wisdom and justice to those in authority, that He will preserve the dignity of every person made in His image, and that He will give the people grace to speak the truth in love and to do good to all as they have opportunity. We pray that families will be strengthened, that children will be taught the Word of God, and that the Gospel will be proclaimed in every place, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. We pray that you will know that best thing yet to come which is not yet revealed to eye or ear, and that you may be able to say with those who have gone before, I shall be satisfied by and by, when I awake with His likeness.

May the Lord keep your heart from a doubtful and undecided mind, and fix it upon Christ, through whom alone is salvation, and who alone can give a hope that does not disappoint. We will continue to plead with God for the prosperity of His Church and for the peace of your land, asking that He will be glorified in all things and that you may find rest in His sovereign and merciful hand.

Your prayer concerning ### and its future has been heard, and we understand the deep sorrow and concern behind it for your home, your people, and your children.

It is right to love the place God has given you and to desire that those who govern do so with justice, honesty, and honor for the dignity of every person made in the image of God. Scripture reminds us that God Himself made from one man every nation to inhabit the earth, and He determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, and that He sees and will require an account from all who hold authority, for there is no authority except that which God allows, and those who rule are accountable to Him to do what is good and to restrain what is evil.

When you feel that promises have been forgotten or that the dignity of ordinary people is not regarded, it is natural to feel grief and even anger. The Scriptures teach us to bring such grief to God, to ask Him to establish justice tempered with mercy, and to remember that true dignity does not come from political favor or from numbers, but from being created and loved by God. At the same time we are called to pray for those in government, not with curses but with intercession, that they may govern with wisdom, truthfulness, and a sincere care for the welfare of all who live in the land.

Let us pray together for your nation.

Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are sovereign over all nations and that You love justice and righteousness. We lift before You the people of ###, their families, and their children, and we ask that You would grant them peace, security, and hope for the future. We pray for those who govern, that You would give them wisdom, integrity, and a heart to serve the people with fairness and to honor the dignity You have given to each person. Guard the nation from division and bitterness, and help all its people to speak the truth in love and to seek the good of their neighbor. Let justice roll on like a river, and let mercy not be forgotten. Above all, draw many hearts to know Your Son Jesus Christ, in whom alone is true hope and eternal citizenship. Grant to Your people patience, courage, and love as they seek to build up their home for the good of the next generation.

We encourage you to continue to cast your cares upon the Lord, to seek His peace which passes understanding, and to pursue what is good for your community with honor and with grace toward all, trusting that God hears the prayers of His people and will act according to His perfect justice and kindness.

Your burden over what you see happening in your nation has come through clearly, and the sense of loss and even betrayal you feel when promises made to one generation seem to be set aside for another is understandable. It is right to bring that ache to the Lord in prayer, and to ask Him to search your own heart as you do.

Scripture teaches that not all anger is sin. Jesus Himself was angry when He saw the house of God desecrated and when hardness of heart kept people from receiving God's mercy. There is an anger at unrighteousness and at what is wrong that is not sinful in itself. The command is, be angry and do not sin, and do not let the sun go down on your wrath. That means anger must be brought quickly to God, dealt with honestly, and not allowed to settle into bitterness.

This is important because anger left to harden becomes destructive. The story of Simeon and Levi shows how a fierce, uncontrolled temper led them to slaughter a city, and years later that anger was still remembered against them and cost them the blessing. God does not hide the sins of men, and He shows us plainly that a cursed anger that seeks to punish others brings loss rather than justice. In the same way, the New Testament warns to put away bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and evil speaking with all malice, because those things grieve the Holy Spirit who has sealed you. Speaking from anger, from a pedestal to put others down, does not build up and does not reflect His work in us.

There is a better way that God Himself models. When Jacob feared meeting Esau after years of bitterness, he tried to appease his brother with gifts, but the real change came because God changed Esau's heart. When they finally met, instead of recrimination there was embrace and forgiveness and they wept together. Faith is not passive, we do pray and we do act as God leads, but lasting reconciliation comes when God softens hearts. Only He can do that in a family and only He can do that between a people and those who lead them.

Scripture also reminds us that vengeance belongs to the Lord. Isaiah speaks of a day of vengeance in God's heart and says that His own arm brings salvation. He will tread down evil in His time and in His way. That frees you from having to carry the weight of vengeance yourself or to be consumed by fear when voices around you grow venomous, as happened when the crowd turned against Jesus and even Peter was gripped by fear.

So bring your anger to God without letting it become malice. Ask Him to keep your heart tender, to guard you from bitterness, and to use you to build up rather than tear down. Pray that He would give wisdom and a changed heart to those in authority, that He would uphold justice and dignity for all people, and that He would give you peace as you trust your ultimate home to Him while you still love and seek the good of the land where He has placed you. May He guard your heart, give you grace to forgive as you have been forgiven in Christ, and bring about what only His hand can do.
