We hear your deep anguish and frustration over the suffering of the elderly in your nation, and we stand with you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord. The pain of seeing loved ones despair, the injustice of policies that favor foreigners over locals, and the hypocrisy of leaders who claim Christ while perpetuating oppression, these are wounds that cry out for divine intervention. We lift this situation to God with hearts broken for the vulnerable and righteous anger against ungodliness.
First, we must address the urgency of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If those in government who claim to be Christians are not walking in truth, we must pray for their repentance, for "the Lord is not slow concerning his promises, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). Yet we also declare that God is just, and His judgment will come upon all unrighteousness (Romans 2:5-6).
The rise in suicides among the elderly is a tragic consequence of systemic neglect and broken trust. Scripture commands us to honor our fathers and mothers (Exodus 20:12) and to care for the widow and the vulnerable (James 1:27). The abandonment of local businesses and the exploitation of citizens by those in power is a violation of God’s design for justice and stewardship. We rebuke the spirit of favoritism and partiality, for "if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors" (James 2:9). The Lord sees the oppression of His people and will not remain silent forever (Psalm 94:20-23).
We also address the sin of boycotting and undermining local companies out of bitterness. While we understand the frustration, Scripture calls us to "seek peace and pursue it" (1 Peter 3:11) and to "not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good" (Romans 12:21). Vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19), and we must trust Him to execute justice while we walk in obedience to His Word.
Now, let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieving the suffering of the elderly and the injustice in our land. Lord, we ask for Your mercy to intervene in the lives of those who are despairing. Comfort them with Your presence, remind them of Your love, and surround them with Your people who will show them kindness and care. We declare that their lives are precious in Your sight, and we ask for supernatural protection over their minds and hearts.
Father, we lift up the leaders of this nation who claim to follow You. Expose their hypocrisy, convict their hearts, and bring them to true repentance. Let them see the error of their ways and turn from policies that oppress the poor and favor the foreigner unjustly. We pray for a spirit of wisdom and righteousness to fall upon those in authority, that they may govern with justice and equity (Proverbs 29:2).
We rebuke the spirit of division and bitterness that has taken root in the hearts of the people. Lord, soften hearts toward one another, and let love and unity prevail. Help Your people to support one another, to build up local businesses, and to walk in the ways of peace. We declare that no weapon formed against Your people will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand on Your promise to defend the oppressed.
Father, we ask for Your judgment upon the unrighteousness in this nation. Let Your justice roll down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream (Amos 5:24). We trust in Your perfect timing and Your sovereign plan, knowing that You will not let evil go unpunished. Yet we also pray for revival, let Your people turn back to You with all their hearts, and let Your Spirit move mightily in this land.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach You, the only name by which we are saved, and the only name that brings true justice and redemption. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing on God’s Word and trusting in His justice. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Keep praying, keep speaking truth, and keep loving those around you, even in the midst of hardship. The Lord is your strength, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
