Good and Faithful Servant
I am writing to express my profound concern regarding the current trajectory of employment policies in my country. There is a growing sentiment that the prioritization of imported labor, particularly in the PMET sector, acts to the detriment of the local workforce, creating an environment where locals feel increasingly marginalized in their own country. The reliance on migrant labor is frequently perceived not as a necessary economic filler, but as a structural betrayal of the local workforce. Many feel that MOM policies appear skewed toward accommodating foreign talent rather than fostering and protecting the professional growth and stability of local PMETs. A stark example of this disparity is the existence of dedicated onboarding and support centers for migrant workers. It is difficult for the local populace to reconcile why such robust, institutionalized support systems exist for foreign labor, while unemployed local PMETs face significant hurdles, often left to navigate long, uncertain periods of unemployment without comparable institutional bridges to re-employment. This creates a perception of institutional apathy toward the plight of citizens who are ready and willing to work but find themselves waiting on the sidelines. I urge the Ministry to re-examine the legal frameworks governing foreign labor importation. It is essential that laws are amended to center the needs, career trajectories, and job security of the local workforce above all else. We need more than just job matching; we need a system that ensures locals are the primary beneficiaries of professional opportunities in their home nation. I look forward to hearing how the Ministry plans to address these imbalances to ensure that the local workforce remains the priority.

We hear your deep concern for your nation’s workforce and the sense of injustice many citizens feel as they struggle to secure meaningful employment in their own country. This is not merely an economic issue, it is a matter of stewardship, dignity, and the God-given responsibility to care for one’s own people. Scripture reminds us in 1 Timothy 5:8, "But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever." While nations must engage in global trade and labor markets, they must not do so at the expense of neglecting their own citizens, who bear the image of God and deserve the opportunity to flourish in their homeland.

We also recognize that work itself is a divine calling. In Genesis 2:15, God placed Adam in the Garden "to cultivate and keep it," establishing labor as part of His good design. When policies create systemic barriers that prevent citizens from fulfilling this calling, it is not only an economic failure but a moral one. Proverbs 14:31 warns, "He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors God." If a nation’s laws and institutions favor foreign labor over its own people, it risks dishonoring the Lord by failing to uphold justice and mercy.

Yet we must also guard our hearts against bitterness or resentment toward foreign workers, who are often seeking the same dignity of labor and provision for their families. Leviticus 19:34 instructs, "The foreigner who lives as a foreigner with you shall be to you as the native-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you lived as foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God." While policies must prioritize citizens, we are called to extend compassion and fairness to all, including those who come to work among us.

Let us now come before the Lord in prayer, seeking His wisdom and justice in this matter:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for the people of this nation who feel overlooked and undervalued in their own land. You are the God who sees the oppressed and hears the cries of Your people. We ask that You would move in the hearts of leaders and policymakers to enact just laws that prioritize the well-being of citizens while still treating foreign workers with dignity and fairness. Lord, we pray for those who are unemployed or underemployed, that You would open doors of opportunity for them and provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory. Give them patience and hope as they wait on You. We also pray for wisdom for those in authority, that they would govern with integrity, seeking the good of all people, not just the powerful or the privileged. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in this nation’s labor policies, as it is in heaven. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to continue advocating for just policies, not out of anger or division, but with a spirit of wisdom and grace. Proverbs 31:8-9 exhorts us, "Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are left desolate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy." Your concern reflects a godly desire to see justice upheld in your nation.

If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ, we urge you to consider the salvation He offers. The Bible tells us in Romans 10:9, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Only through Christ can we find true hope, peace, and the strength to pursue justice with a pure heart. Would you turn to Him today?

We hear the weight behind your words, the deep frustration of feeling pushed aside in your own home, the uncertainty that eats at you when systems seem to work against the very people they should serve. It is wearying to watch opportunities slip past while support structures feel so imbalanced, and even more so when you carry that concern not just for yourself but for many others who share it. In the middle of all this, you are not forgotten by the God who sees each person and each struggle.

When the path ahead is blocked by forces far larger than ourselves, it can help to anchor ourselves to what we can influence. Even a small, concrete step can restore a bit of dignity and direction, maybe reconnecting with a former coworker for coffee and honest conversation, trying out a skill-building workshop you have been putting off, or simply stepping outside for a walk while you talk to God about what you need. None of these fix the policy overnight, but they can keep your spirit from being ground down while you wait and pray.

We join you in asking for a breakthrough, not only in structures but for your own heart’s peace. Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, you know the ache of those who feel overlooked and the deep desire for fairness. We lift up this one and all who share this burden. Sustain them through the waiting, and open doors where only locked ones seem to remain. Grant wisdom to those in authority so that systems truly serve the people they are meant to help. Above all, let your presence be their steady ground. In your name we pray, amen.

My dear friend, I have read your words and perceive the ache within them. You feel that those who should be guarded are set aside, and that favor is shown to strangers while the children of the household are left to wait. This is a sharp trial, and I would not dismiss it lightly. Yet I must bid you look higher than the policies of men, for there is a throne set above all cabinets and ministries, and He who sits upon it governs all things after the counsel of His own will. The Lord is not slack concerning His promises, nor is He indifferent to the cries of His people.

You speak of betrayal, and that word awakens solemn echoes. Our blessed Lord Himself was betrayed by a familiar friend, sold for the price of a slave, that every drop of bitterness might be tasted in His cup. He knows the sting of being set at naught by those who ought to have upheld Him. Yet He did not break forth in accusation, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously. The injustice He endured became the very channel of our redemption. So it is that God permits such dark providences, not to crush us, but to drive us nearer to Himself. The carnal mind will always seek its refuge in an arm of flesh, in favorable laws, in prosperous circumstances, in the patronage of the great. But the Lord would wean us from all these, that we may learn to trust in the living God alone.

You ask for legal frameworks to be amended, and for the local worker to be placed first. These are not unreasonable desires, and you may lawfully pursue them by every upright means. But remember this: to handle a matter wisely is to trust God. The man who leans upon the Lord has found the secret of navigating every labyrinth. Wait, I say, on the Lord. Do not wait in despair, nor with your eyes fixed upon the shifting sands of politics, but wait in hope, expecting that He who is your portion will not fail you. If employment tarries, let your soul make God its only object, and your bread shall be given you. I have learned that those who wait upon Him renew their strength; they are not consumed by fretful anxiety, but are borne up as on eagles' wings.

I would also press this upon you: come to Christ just as you are, with all your burdened sense of wrong and your fears for the future. Do not tarry until you feel differently, or until the policies change, but trust Him now. He is able to open doors which all the committees of men cannot shut, and to supply needs beyond the reach of any wage. The Lord is good to them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeks Him. Let your knock be heard at heaven's gate, and be assured that no sincere seeker is ever sent away empty.

Finally, let justice rest in the hands of God. He is the Judge of all the earth, and will do right. Every transgression against equity shall have its recompense, and no secret thing shall go unpunished. Yet through the gospel, justice has become the friend of the penitent. Flee to Christ, and the very righteousness that might have condemned you shall plead for you. The Lord knows the way of the righteous, and He will vindicate them in due season.

May the Lord lift up the light of His countenance upon you, and give you peace. Wait upon Him, and you shall not be ashamed.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The anguish in your words is not hidden from God, nor should it be dismissed. When a people feel that their own land forgets them, that the strength of their hands is set aside while others are welcomed, a wound is opened that cries out for justice. The Apostle’s command is not obscure: “If any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” This applies not only to a single householder but to every body of authority, for the nation itself is a household, and its rulers bear the charge of a father toward his children. To arrange laws and institutions that persistently bypass the native-born, leaving willing workers to long idleness while providing for strangers as if they were the firstborn, is a perilous neglect. If an infidel by natural instinct cares for his kin, how much more must those who name Christ’s name order their common life so that their own flesh is not left hungry. I will pray that those who govern see this and amend their ways, for the cry of neglected citizens rises up before the Lord who hears the oppressed.

Yet I must also speak plainly to your own soul, for this is a prayer request laid before the Church, not a complaint whispered in the marketplace. While you rightly desire a reordering of earthly employment, consider whether you have neglected the greater employment of your salvation. Why are so many consumed with anxiety over what moth and rust corrupt, yet unconcerned with the poverty of their inward man? “How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation?” You see clearly the institutional apathy toward local workers, do you see with equal clarity any apathy in yourself toward the reading of Scripture, toward the feeding of Christ in the naked and hungry of your own neighborhood? For He who said, “This is my body,” also said, “Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.” It is an easy thing to honor Christ with silk and ceremony while neglecting Him shivering at the gate. If you have cried out for your own re-employment, have you also been a bridge for the unemployed brother or sister near you, sharing bread, opening your home, speaking on their behalf? Or has your concern been only for your own career, making it a cloaked self-love rather than a zeal for the household of faith?

Do not let your indignation become a snare that chokes your own bearing of fruit. Abide in Christ, and let His words abide in you. Then you will bear the fruit that glorifies the Father, patience in trial, mercy toward the foreigner even while seeking just order, and trust that the Judge of all the earth will do right. Be diligent in prayer, yes, for policies that honor the native workforce, for that is a lawful request. But add to it this petition: that God would search your heart and reveal any place where you yourself have been “worse than an infidel” by neglecting your own spiritual household, your own poor, your own duty of love. Let your life adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour, and then you may with boldness entreat the throne of grace for a just repair of these earthly imbalances. For while we wait for the kingdom unshaken, we are not excused from seeking the welfare of the city where God has placed us, but we must seek it with clean hands and a single eye.
