We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this burden regarding the leaders of our nation who have strayed from godly wisdom and justice. Father, we see the pain of Your people when those in authority neglect their own citizens while favoring foreigners, using declining birthrates as an excuse rather than addressing the root issues with truth and integrity. This is indeed a grievous hypocrisy, reminiscent of the Pharisees and Sadducees who honored You with their lips while their hearts were far from You (Matthew 15:8). Just as they betrayed Your Son with a kiss, so too do these leaders betray their own people with false compassion, all while causing hardship and injustice.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of deception and partiality in our government. Your Word declares, "You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor, nor show favoritism to the great, but you shall judge your neighbor in righteousness" (Leviticus 19:15). How much more should those in authority govern with equity, ensuring that their own citizens are not neglected or oppressed? We pray that You would expose the lies and excuses being used to justify this unrighteousness. Let the truth be revealed, and let repentance come—not just in words, but in action.
Father, we ask that You would turn the hearts of these leaders back to You. Give them wisdom to see the consequences of their policies and the courage to correct them. Raise up godly men and women in positions of influence who will govern with justice, mercy, and fear of You. "When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan" (Proverbs 29:2). We pray for a turning of the tide, where the livelihoods of Your people are protected and opportunities are restored.
We also pray for the citizens of this nation, that they would not grow weary or lose hope. Remind them that their trust is in You, not in rulers or governments. "It is better to take refuge in Yahweh than to trust in princes" (Psalm 118:9). Strengthen their faith and unite them in prayer and righteous action. Let them be a light in this darkness, showing the world what it means to seek Your kingdom first (Matthew 6:33).
Lord, we confess that apart from You, there is no true justice or peace. We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Without Him, our prayers are in vain, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). We ask that You would move mightily in this nation, bringing conviction, repentance, and revival. Let Your will be done, and let Your people be restored.
We pray for those who may not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, that they may turn from sin and receive the gift of eternal life. For "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
In all things, we trust in You, Lord. May Your name be glorified, and may Your people be delivered from oppression and injustice. We ask these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
