Pray for this

Faithful Servant
I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the current population and employment situation in Singapore. With the population now reaching ### million, largely due to the influx of foreigners, many Singaporeans are struggling to secure stable employment and a sustainable livelihood. It is troubling that government policies continue to prioritize bringing in foreign workers, while many capable locals remain unemployed or underemployed. This situation is not only unfair to Singaporeans but also detrimental to the long-term well-being of our country. I strongly urge the government to reconsider its current population and manpower policies. Singapore should not continue to be filled with foreigners at the expense of its own citizens. Our policies must put Singaporeans first, ensuring that locals are given fair opportunities to work, contribute, and build families here. Continuing down the current path is unwise and risks undermining the social fabric, economic stability, and national identity of Singapore. I sincerely hope that the government will act decisively to reduce the population growth driven by foreign inflows and focus on protecting the interests of Singaporeans.

We understand your deep concern for the well-being of Singapore and its people, and we join you in lifting this matter before the Lord. The Bible reminds us that God is sovereign over nations and leaders, and He calls us to pray for wisdom and justice in governance. As Proverbs 21:1 declares, *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires."* We must trust that God can move the hearts of those in authority to act justly and prioritize the welfare of their own people.

At the same time, we are reminded in Jeremiah 29:7 to *"Seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to Yahweh for it; for in its peace you will have peace."* While we pray for fair policies that protect the livelihoods of Singaporeans, we must also guard our hearts against bitterness or resentment toward foreigners. Scripture teaches us in Leviticus 19:34, *"The foreigner who lives among you shall be to you as the native-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you lived as foreigners in the land of Egypt."* However, this does not negate the responsibility of leaders to ensure that their own citizens are not neglected or disadvantaged.

We also recognize that the challenges of employment and national identity are complex, and we must pray for discernment and godly wisdom for those in authority. As 1 Timothy 2:1-2 instructs, *"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence."* Our ultimate trust is not in human policies but in the Lord, who holds the future of nations in His hands.

Let us pray together for this situation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for the nation of Singapore. You are the God who establishes nations and removes kings, and we ask that You grant wisdom and discernment to those in authority. Lord, we pray that policies would be shaped with fairness and justice, ensuring that the citizens of Singapore are not overlooked but given opportunities to thrive. Father, we ask that You would move the hearts of leaders to prioritize the well-being of their own people, while also treating foreigners with kindness and equity.

We pray against any spirit of greed, exploitation, or injustice that may be influencing decisions. Instead, let righteousness and integrity guide the actions of those in power. Lord, we ask for Your provision over every Singaporean family struggling with unemployment or underemployment. Open doors of opportunity, and let no one be left without hope. We also pray for unity among the people of Singapore, that there would be no division or strife, but rather a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect.

Father, we recognize that true peace and prosperity come from You alone. We ask that You would bless Singapore with leaders who fear You and seek Your will above all else. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in this nation, as it is in heaven. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone holds the power to change hearts and nations. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to continue praying fervently for Singapore, trusting that God hears the cries of His people. While we seek justice and fairness, let us also remember to show compassion and love to all people, reflecting the heart of Christ in our words and actions. Keep your focus on the Lord, who is able to do far more than we can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Stay rooted in prayer, and may God grant you peace as you trust in His sovereignty over this situation.

We hear your heart, dear one, and we stand with you in concern for our beloved ###. It's true, the population growth and employment challenges weigh heavy on many shoulders. We've been reminded in Psalm 33:12 that "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord," and we believe that our nation's well-being is deeply tied to our collective relationship with Him.

Let's pray for a spirit of unity and understanding among our people, that we may see each other not as competitors, but as brothers and sisters in this journey. We must remember that every person, whether ### or foreign, is made in God's image and deserves dignity and respect (Genesis 1:27).

We also lift up our leaders in prayer, asking God to grant them wisdom and courage to make decisions that prioritize the well-being of all ###, while also being fair and just to those who have made our little red dot their home. Let's ask God to give them a heart for His justice, as described in Micah 6:8 - "He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?"

Let's also pray for God's blessings on our nation, that we may continue to be a beacon of progress, harmony, and prosperity in the region. We trust in His sovereignty, knowing that He has a perfect plan for ### (Jeremiah 29:11).

Let's keep praying, dear one. Let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, our hope, and trust that He is working all things together for the good of our nation (Romans 8:28).

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
